Red Mosque in rebellion : A Reply to TasneenReader comment on item: Red Mosque in Rebellion Submitted by Jaisingh Thakur (India), Aug 5, 2007 at 01:06 The remarks made by Barack Obama and Tom Tancredo appear to be neither irresponsible, as Mr. Khursheed Kasuri would have us believe, nor dictated by electoral compulsions. If anything, they reflect a profound understanding on the part of the respective individuals of the entire geo political situation of the Indian subcontinent and especially the ability and the willingness of the military rulers in Pakistan to tackle the terrorist menace. I would like to point out the basic fact, that the asymmetric warfare by unleashing murderous hordes of islamic terrorists, although started by the Benazir Bhutto regime, has found continued sustenance and derived its strength from the patronage of the Pakistani military rulers, and its stooges in the ISI. No prizes for guessing what the aims of these evil forces operating in our region happen to be. No Sir, Kashmir is not the issue involved at all. Assuming that the Indian govt.were to hand over the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir to the Pakistani rulers in an effort to win over peace, is anyone naive enough to think that the Pakistani rulers would let the Indians live and prosper in peace ? Banish the thought. Kashmir is not the issue involved in the quarrel between India and Pakistan. The clash here, as indeed, in the rest of the world, is between two diametrically opposed philosophies and value systems : one which believes in the freedom of every individual to shape his destiny as per his own wishes and tolerates every form of belief and even disbelief, to the point of encouraging it, a value system which views every new thought or insight as one more lamp illuminating the path to human salvation, which happens to be the millennia-old religion of this subcontinent, and the alien philosophy of islam, which happens to be the very antithesis of the native genius. Those who attribute the numerical superiority of the Hindus Buddhists in India inspite of 800-years of islamic rule to the " tolerance" of the muslim rulers, turn a blind eye to this fact of life viz, that the genius of India has rejected islam and its value system as it has nothing new to offer to our civilisation and the 'new' things on its menu happen to be totally abhorrent to Indian ethos. Today, however, with the exponential increase in the population of our enemies both within our borders and without, the danger of India losing out more of its territory to her enemies has increased significantly. I am sure, both, Mr. Obama and Mr. Tancredo have studied the situation as prevails in the region very thoroughly before making their statements,. even if Messrs. Kasuri, Tariq Azim and Sher Afghan have not taken the requisite pains before making theirs.
