Being a Hindu, I am not aware of the predictions made by the hallowed saints Malachy, and Benedict. My religion teaches me to honour every word of those pious and devout teachers and to accord them as much reverence as I accord to men of God like Swami Vivekananda, Shri Ramkrishna Paramhansa, and several others too numerous to be named in this blog.
Being a Hindu, and being fortunate enough to have been born into the lap of Mother India, I can say that I have imbibed from my earlest childhood the firm belief that whatever be the conditions, howsoever high be the odds stacked against it, truth and virtue shall always prevail in the long run. As an Indian, I have had the first hand experience of the "light" said to have been brought by isalm to my part of the world.
This " light" of islam, I am afraid, to say, would have been far much appreciated had it remained outside the Indian sub continent. If the present-day nation of Pakistan comprises entirely of self-loathers, who view their ancestors and the glorious contributions made by them to the welfare of mankind at large, through 'islamic' spectacles of idol-worship and polytheism, so be it. However, we, in India, comprise a self-respecting lot, well aware as we are, of our ancient culture's immense contributions to the welfare of humanity - a process which would have been carried on without interruption had islam not chosen to bring its "light" to this part of the world.
The present struggle ,the fight for human dignity, freedom of thought and deed, and, in fact, our very way of life has been imposed upon us by the jihadists-who forget that in doing so, they are merely aiding and abetting Arab imperialism. India, however, has seen several Ghaznis, Ghors, Baburs, and Aurangzebs go to their graves and continues to flourish and prosper even today. If it is God's will that it should act as the grave yard of islamism then history shall repeat itself, this time, not as a farce but as an irreversible 'fait accompli'!
