Thanks Timothy for your replyReader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Muhammad (Australia), Aug 11, 2007 at 11:31 Hi there Timothy, Its okay mate... It is, in fact, very hard to judge people these days.... especially when we are on the net.....I understand that Timothy. Anyway, I read your post... loved it to be honest and there are few points I have noted.... he he.... 1. "It just seems like most religions ( I include Islam, Christianity, Judaism in this) must have been created by Satan himself. As a way of turning Gods children against each other and seducing us into committing some of the most horrifying sins against each other in the name of God." -- Timothy, I don't know what to say..... But, I haven't found the word 'religion' in the whole Bible. In the English translations of the Quraan, I have found some of the translators used the word 'religion'. If we look at the original copy in Arabic, I have found that the term is "Deen". If I translate "Deen" in English, it means way, way to be followed, judgment, the judged way etc. The Arabic of 'religion' is 'Majhab'. No where in the Quraan 'Majhab' is mentioned. Isn't it something interesting! 2. "I believe on 911 God cried and Satan rolled on the floor laughing in his head off." -- Well Timothy, I am a bit skeptical about God. For our common term, let's call Him 'The Creator'. I haven't found anywhere that He cries.....he he... But here is a quick question... What is your point of view on 'The Creator' and 'Satan'? Are they opponent? Or what are their roles against each other? This is just my curiosity to know what your view point. I will tell you mine. My understanding (or belief) is that 'The Creator' created everything... even Satan. Therefore Satan becomes his creation like we were created. [Obviously, there are differences btn Satan and us]. Satan didn't listen to 'the Creator' once, rather he accused HIM for his own sin, and thus he was cursed. Satan's place has been fixed - Hell. He was given respite (upon his request) till the Day of Judgment, so he can make ppl follower of him and can take his followers into Hell. His hatred against human is because he was asked to prostrate before Adam (peace be upon him).... refusing to do it made him cursed. This is my understanding in extreme short from the Quraan. The reason I stated my opinion is simply to tell you that God doesn't cry. When we say, God cried and Satan laughed.... it some how portrays that God lost and Satan won.... which is not possible at all. Because God is not the enemy of Satan and God is not fighting with Satan. Satan is our enemy and we should therefore take him as an enemy. Satan is the one creates hatred among people, he is the one who makes people kill each other unjustly, he is the one who shows people ways which ‘The Creator' forbids. We cannot kill Satan because we simply don't have power to kill him. But we can make him disable or inactive by following the Will of 'The Creator'. Whatever happened on 9/11, God didn't even try to stop it. Because it is not God's duty to stop it. It is the duty of the humankind to stop it. That's how we attain righteousness which will let us enter the 'Kingdom of heaven'[Matthew 5:20]. 3. "The problem with hatred is once it starts it's like a runaway freight train. No one is happy unless their the one who gets to inflict the last blow. Hatred is easy, vengence is bitter sweet, true tolerance and love is the hardest path to follow. And we're all failing at this path !!!!!!" -- Well, I completely do agree with you Timothy. I had the same question in my mind.... why are we failing? What is holding us to do all the good things and what is pushing us to do all the bad things? Once again, my understanding is this - There are different types of people. One, who reads the Scripture and find solutions out of it - The Will of 'The Creator' and the way to implement the Will of 'The Creator'. Second, who knows a bit of the Scripture and makes thing out of it according to his own will. Semi-Ignorant and most dreadful. Thirdly, who has no idea in the scripture and follows what he wills. Fourthly, who doesn't believe in 'The Creator' People fall in number One are the perfect ones. And the rest create problems on this planet. And Satan uses them to spread the problem. The best weapon Satan has is the ignorance. 4. "I believe there's some truth in all the religions but there is no one religion that is completely or the only one that is correct." -- Timothy, as I mentioned earlier, 'The Creator' hasn't mentioned about religion. He was talking about Way. Even according to The Quraan "Verily, in the sight of Allah the judgment (way) is Submission" [3:19]. The more I submit (follow the Will of 'The Creator'), the more righteous I become, the closer I go to the Kingdom of Heaven. Well, these are all my understanding anyway.... 5. "So when I hear people saying that the Quraan is the direct word of Allah or that it is perfect and it's prophet was perfect and that Islam is the religion of peace blah blah blah blah blah............I just want to scream SHUT UP !!!!!! And Jerry Farwell saying that the only way to God is through Jesus (he's actually saying the only way is through his religion) I want to smack him across the face and say SHUT UP !!!!!!!" -- Timothy, after considering all these scriptures, I have picked The Quraan to follow. I am not saying that other scriptures are not the word of 'The Creator'. With all due respect to other scriptures, one thing I must say that intrigued me about Quraan is - this is the only book whose author is claiming that he is 'The Creator'. And as I haven't wrote this book (The Quraan), so I am not in a situation to back up the words of this book. Right? If anyone can prove that this is not the word of 'The Creator', I will stop following it. Because I would like to follow the Will of 'The Creator' - the Truth. Also, I am neither a scientist, geologist, archeologist, historian, nor in the field of astronomy, medicine, politics .... nothing. I am a simple person want to live a healthy life that will lead me to heaven. I like to see things in the simple way like most other people. Timothy, if you happen to find any thing wrong in the Quraan, for which it should not be followed, please do let me know with the verse number. That way, I can judge the book according to my own understanding and can decide whether to follow or not. If you have come up to here, you must be thinking who is this guy loves writing lines after lines... doesn't he have better things to do?.... he he .... I will stop it for now. Wishing you all the best. May 'The Creator' help me follow his Will. Muhammad Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
