NasikhReader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Omo Nja (United Kingdom), Nov 11, 2011 at 21:26 The concept of Nasikh in Islam is one of progressive revelation (Abrogation) - i.e, if there is a contradiction, a newer verse in a Surah cancels out the old. That's why it is titaaly foolish for he likes of President Bush to have sided with the notion that islam is peaceful. e.g of abrogation: surah 2:109 [ali's version] quite a number of the pepple of the book wish they could turn you (people) back to infidelity after you have believed... but forgive and overlook... ; but see the following whioch in effect nullifies the previous verse - surah 9: 5 [shakir version] .. so when The sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, mohamed starts out with the idea from his revelations that there is no compulsion in relgion surah 2:256, but he has 'progressive revelations' after this early stage, and he ends up in " therefore, when you meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks; at length, when you have thorougly subduded them, bind a bond firmly (on them)" Surah 47:4 [Ali's version ]. Jihad is an obligationn on the MUslim who wants to practice his religion the way mohamed did, both in word and deed. check surah 9:38-39 [shakir]; surah 4:75. Hadith Mishkat Masabih vol II, page 253 jihad is "the best method of earning [blessings] both spiritual and temporal...if there is defeat or death, there is everlasting paradise" re: Seikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Hamid of the Sacred Mosque of Mecca " Then Allah revealed in Surah Ba'rat (Repentance, IX) the order to discard (all) obligations and (covenants ) etc and commanded the Muslims to fight all the pagans as well as the pwople of the scriptutres (jews & christians) if they do not embrace islam. jihad in essence is not a defensive issue, but an attack to subdue. - read surah 9:29 & 123. How did Nasikh come into ?, again Seikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Hamid " so first the fighting was forbidden, then it was permitted, and after that it became obligatory - he says this in ref t surah 9:41. muslims are taught not to question thier book ' bi-la-kayf. When thier prophet was asked questions about his revelations, Hadith records he was angry stating thah "allah has 'hated you' (in response to the questioner) for asking questions". the muslim accepts the Quran " Ta abbudi" - without criticism. The bible on the other hand welcomes questions - take time to find the following pharaphrased verse - ' let us reason together, state your case' Is 41, or in Job 38 2-3 " Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge, Brace yourself like a man, I willl question you and you will answer me". God must by his nature be a God of constancy. How can he be a loving Father who does not wish that 'any should perish in the Bible' and then turns into a god who shuts every hope and message of salvation in the Quran. How come a man or womans life is weighed up on a balance of good deeds? Not forgetting that in the Bible we are that all our righteouness is like 'filthy rags'. How is it those who decide to become suicide bombers and terrorists rely on the "trade" in Surah 61:10-13. the Quran lacks any message of assurance of salvation, but it leaves a small opportunity to experience forgiveness by a "trade" - the muslim lays down his life through jihad and their allah grants forgiveness. How much blood does this allah need? And please do not revert to the silly questioning about the Crusades. Where in the Bible are any people instructed to bring a crusade against another people? Just because the Quran states that we worship the same god , it does not mean that Christians must swallow this notion. The Quran must stand or fall on its own merits especially as it was revealed some 600 years after the Bible. The silly circular arguements that beligerent muslims try to force on people by trying to disprove the Bible by quoting their book is juvenile and lacks academic backbone. Islam, does not mean peace and not even submission, it is a word borrowed from the times prior to the arabian penninsular becoming invaded and subdued by mohammed." Islam" orginally referred to a secular concept denoting a sublime virtue in the eyes of the primitive Arab; defiance of death or heroism or to die in battle" - The Spiritual Background of Islam.
