Lowest point on EarthReader comment on item: Developments in Syria and Turkey Submitted by Guardian of Deen (United Arab Emirates), Jun 25, 2013 at 01:31 According to encyclopedia Britannica and I quote "The Avars almost captured the Byzantine Emperor in 617 during a conference outside the long walls of the capital. The Persians penetrated Asia Minor and then turned to the south capturing Jerusalem and Alexandira. The Great days of the Persian Achaemenid Empire seemed to have come back, and there was little in the recent history of the Byzantine emperors that would encourage Heraclius to place much faith in the future." Jerusalem is about 20 km from the DEAD SEA (lowest land on Earth) were the battle took place and the Byzantines lost the battle. Heraclius lost faith, that means his loss was devastating Leave what you are doing and find another trade better for you
