Mongol and other tribal invasions and origins of Abrahamic religionsReader comment on item: Developments in Syria and Turkey Submitted by Mozere (United Kingdom), Jun 27, 2013 at 07:02 The population of China is 1.3 billion and that of mongolia is 2.8 million. For every Mongolian there are 475 chinese, most probably this ratio held true in the 13th century, yet the Mongols invaded. Similarly tribes from the deserts and mountains of the ME invaded the settled civilisations of Egypt and Sumer.E.g the Hyksos,Akkads overturned these civilisations. The simple semitic tribes of the wilderness felt envious of the riches provided by the fertile deltas of the Nile and Tigris. They did not understand the sophistication of these civilisations. They accused them of worshipping idols, yet they adopted the epics of Sumerian Gilgamish and the laws of Babylonian Hamurabi and Egyptian folklore and regurgitated them as god given holy stories.
