The "Impossible Dream"

Reader comment on item: Islamism's Trajectory

Submitted by Mike Ramirez (United States), May 25, 2014 at 06:52

"Islamism is the ideology of our enemies and … needs to be defeated, not brought around."

To defeat the "Islamist ideology" one would have to strip each ardent follower and recent convert of Islam from what they have been indoctrinated to believe as being true. Consider the following:

The fundamental ideology of "Islamism" is to be obedient to Al'lah, the deity worshipped by 1.3 Billion Muslims, and to their prophet, Muhammad. The Qur'an, Islam's holy book, (believed to be the divine revelation from Al'lah) and Ahadith, sayings of Muhammad, encourage warfare against non-Muslims and secular societies with the end-goal resulting in world domination. Unlike the secular governnments of Fascism and Communism that don't guarantee rewards to the citizenry, Muslims are indoctrinated to believe that Al'lah and Muhammad have commanded them to fight until Islam prevails no matter the cost of life or property and that martyrdom for the cause will "guarantee" eternal rewards in paradise for the martyr and paradise for seventy family members.

In order to defeat the "Islamist ideology" each and every fundamentally-believing Muslim would have to be convinced that the commands to strike terror and defeat the enemies of Al'lah and Muhammad are not true, have been fabricated and should not be obeyed. Even during the days of the Ottoman Empire, when Islam is said to have been moderate and tolerant, Muslims still regarded themselves as being superior and above all people as taught through indoctrination of the Islamic religious teachings.

In order to defeat the "Islamist agenda" each and every Muslim would need to disbelieve, negate and delete all verses from the Qur'an and Ahadith that obligate and command Muslims to fight until the world submits to Al'lah and accepts Muhammad as the last and final prophet to mankind. That would require a measure of disobedience to their deity, Al'lah, and their prophet, Muhammad.

That's the "Impossible Dream" and that is why this world will continue to see "holy warriors of Al'lah" wage jihad against non-Muslims and secular societies - until the end of days. Sad, but true.
