The Pythagorean Theorem and the Pipes Dream

Reader comment on item: Islamism's Trajectory

There is a glimmer of hope for a non-violent non-political Islam? You can't even find this in Christianity and Judaism. Look at how the Christian churches all prayed for their soldiers in WWI and WWII. And look at the Jewish state of Israel that went against orthodox rabbis who wanted to wait for Messiah to come first, and won out with sheer military power. Yes, Christianity has the tiny cult of Jehovah's Witnesses, who teach believers to opt-out of all govts. and wait for Christ to return with an army of angels to destroy all of Satan's followers while they are protected and don't lift a finger, but they consider Israel to be no fulfillment of prophecy because they believe that only JWs are true Jews, and that all religions are run by Satan except theirs. On the other hand, their teachings are based on the Old and New Testaments, albeit their own peculiar translation, but as long as Muslims stick with the Quran the words and example of Muhammad in clear Arabic totally prevent this, particularly since the #1 message is to stop Jews from having their own state again by all means possible including bloodshed. So sorry, the Pipe Dream won't smoke.

Rather than trying to smoke the pot out of hypotenuse, Pipes should join me to work for a Great Muslim Apostasy in which after the Internet frees their minds, hundreds of millions of Muslims tweet that they're chucking Islam, Allah, Muhammad and his Great Jihad, and dance in the streets with Jews in the Middle East begging forgiveness and asking their help to absolve them of their sins and help them rejoin the human race with the lines redrawn to make the region a credit to the world instead of an eyesore and Armageddon trap. If George Soros would only wake up and get his checkbook out, it could happen fast, but until then we'll have to do it without him.
