The regular Swiss referendum on the lowest and the highest level of decision making has been the highlight of European democracy. Yet it was the Swiss who only recently gave women the vote.

I think that you are mixing apples and oranges here the laws in the west are secular laws made by human beings and are subject to change and case in point would be your Swiss example

Islamic law is eternal and good for all times and all places which means that the in-equality of men and women and of Muslims and non Muslims are there to stay
