How Christian are Protestants? Or, How Jewish are the Haredi?

Dear Daniel Pipes,

The more I think about the more I think you are - because of good, and even noble, intention attempting to be "politically correct" in your efforts to maintain the distinctions between true Muslims, and the so-called Islamists of Isamism who, according to you, are not true practicioners of Islam.

Notice that it wouldn't occur to you to say that Catholics who subscribe to Roman Catholiscm of Rome with its Pope; of course, one might wish to qualify that to include the varieous Orthodx Christian churches of the East. But in fact, over time, there are reformations in religion which weed out cults and include new fundamentalist sects.

But you clearly mark out certain practices of Islam and designate them as Ideologies - not really religions.

Ironically, it the establishment institutions which take exception to your distinction - like the Police Department of New York City (NYPD). In their duty of preventing another 9/11 incident, they have taken on the task of examining what they designate as Radical Islam - not Islamism. And in 2007 the NYPD issued a report. This report is posted on the web cite of the NYPD:

In response, Muslim organizations have secretly sued the NYPD in federal court to have this report taken down - because, obviously, it isn't "politically correct" to call such radicals or terrorists either "Muslim" or "Islamic," or members of the community of "Islam." I wander if the substitution of your words "Isamic" and "Islamists" would satisfy these plaintiffs?:
