Australia and the US attacking Israel

Hi, Moh

For some reason, this response of yours came up a second time; so I will answer it again -- replying to something you said, but I hadn't deat with, namely,

"I can't see the whole world attacking Israel. Certainly not this country as we support Israel's right to exist and thrive. So do many others - including all the anglophone countries. Anyone with half a brain sees through the treachery , lies , double dealing and unjustified manic hatred toward Israel by most of the islamic world..."

As with everything I predict here, I base it first on what the Bible says, then look around to see if the conditions might be right for it to occur in the near future. The scripture is:

Zehcariah 14:
[1] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
[2] For I will gather ALL NATIONS against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
[3] Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
[4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Because this prophecy concerns the days of the coming ("returning", to Christians) of Messiah, it must be in the future. Zechariah says the attack will come by "All Nations", which, when they move in a "united" fashion, would constitute the "United Nations". The word "nations", by the way, is the Hebrew word for "gentiles"; because the Jewish people were not counted by God as one of the "nations"; but as His own, chosen, separate people.

"United Nations" certainly includes the US and Australia. Would we ever join in an attack on Israel, let alone lead it? Consider this:

1. a. The Korean War b. The Gulf War; c. Kosovo d. Afghanistan e. The Iraq War f. Libya. In all these cases, the US led an invasion of a single country, joined by most of the Western powers (Australia often prominent among them). Sometimes, it had UNSC approval, as with the Korean War; at other times, we acted without even seeking UN approval (Kosovo).

2. About half of the UN's resolutions have been against Israel; and Australia and the UK have sometimes supported them. Only the US and Israel, and sometimes virtual US dependencies Marshall Islands, Micornesia and Palau, have consistently opposed them. Among the who sometimes stood with us were Australia and Canada. With President Obama declaring that there would now be "air" between US foreign policy and Israel, however, we put Israel on notice that we will not always support them.

3. WHY would we attack Israel? The nations of the world actually agree on very little, other than opposition to the Jews and to Israel. The most ridiculous grounds have been used to condemn Israel in the past, including the argument that "Zionism is racism". Recently, Israel has been condemned for supposedly posessing nuclear weapons, but not allowing international inspectors to keep track of them. I can easily imagine the US and Australia one day joining in with a UNGA resolution to condemn Israel on these grounds, and allowing force to be authorized by the Security Council. The rest of the action has been rehearsed in Kuwait, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.
