The US President has just provided the basis for a US-led UN attack on Israel:Reader comment on item: Is Radical Islam in Decline? Submitted by Michael S (United States), Oct 2, 2016 at 02:34 Hi, Moh. Read for yourself: The US President has just provided the basis for a US-led UN attack on Israel: "The United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution in late September urging all states to refrain from conducting any nuclear weapons tests and called for prompt GLOBAL implementation of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). The resolution passed with a vote of 14 in favor, none against and one abstention (Egypt). That the United States took the initiative for the resolution apparently reflects President Barack Obama's desire to establish his nuclear disarmament legacy in the face of domestic opposition." http://www.cambodiantimes.com/index.php/sid/248166269 As you know, Israel has never ratified the CTBT: "The Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, known as the CTBT, has 196 member states 183 that have signed the treaty and 164 that have ratified it. But the treaty has not entered into force because it still needs ratification by eight countries that had nuclear power reactors or research reactors when the U.N. General Assembly adopted the treaty in 1996 — the United States, China, Iran, Israel, Egypt, India, Pakistan and North Korea." -- http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/iran-israel-could-ratify-nuclear-test-ban-treaty-ctbto-chief/article8167346.ece Obama's initiative, on the other hand, calls upon even NON-RATIFIERS such as Israel to comply with the treaty. That is the reason that, until this lame duck roiled the waters, the US has never gone along with such resolutions. The resolution provides a basis for future US military action against Israel. Repeat: The resolution provides a basis for future US military action against Israel. It is only the matter of time, and perhaps the 2020 election, before the other shoe drops.
