Turkey is now threatening military action against its peaceful neighbors

The facts of the matter, are that the citizens of the legally-constituted Kurdish Regional Government of NE Iraq. Have had a peaceful referendum about possible independence. The referendum is not binding, the results are not even in yet, and the voting was carried out legally and peacefully. Nevertheless Erdogan, the ever-more-obnoxious bully of the region, has been threatening severe economic and military action against the Kurds for this free expression of their legitimate rights.

The terrorist regime of Iran, along with its Iraqi allies, have also denounced the referendum; and Baghdad is demanding that the KRG surrender rights given to it by treaty (control of airports and border points) to the central government, on pain of acts of war against it by the Iraqi central government.

Israel is also getting spew-over from Erdogan, because the Jews of Israel have expressed support of the Kurds. The US has also taken the side of Erdogan, because Trump is afraid of him.
