Turkey is a huge problemReader comment on item: I Taught NATO to Stand Up to a Dictator Submitted by Alex Flint (United States), Sep 28, 2017 at 22:07 Turkey is quickly becoming a problem for the west and NATO in particular. I understand that Turkey holds a rather important geopolitical position in the alliance, but maybe the time has come to revisit the issue of Turkey's importance in NATO. Erdogan is clearly supporting Islamists and provided a cover or turn the blind eye on all the supply lines to Daesh. Turkey is on the very slippery slope to become a new Iran post-1979. Turkey involvement in Syria is also quite shady since Turks support the broad coalition of ani-Asad forces, in which 9/10 of them are seasoned Jihadists in no way much better than Daesh. Turks are the main force that doesn't allow US to support much friendlier Kurds. So it is a matter of time when this whole situation with Turkey will become intolerable to the rest of NATO members. Wonder who will have the stomach to do something about this rather stupid situation when everyone understands that Turkey with Erdogan should be stopped but no one is bold enough to do anything about it.
