I believe we are overestimating the capabilities of the Kurds.

Remember in Iraq the Kurds are not united at all. Just the other day Iran and Iraq managed to ensure that the PUK-Kurds desert and hand over Kirkuk to them since the pro-Iran PUK has always been opposed to pro-Israel and pro-US Barzani.

PUK leaders have always been able to get major posts in Baghdad by being close to Baghdad and Tehran.

I believe the Iranians are expert diplomats and they will play "divide and rule" against Kurds again.

In this circumstances, I am not sure that Iran will not try to play the "divide and rule" card against the Israel. After all if Israel can play "divide and rule" against Arabs for more than 6 decades then so is Iran.

There are many anti-Zionist Jewish groups inside Israel like the African black Jews, the ultra-orthodox who do not want to enlist and so forth. If I have been an Iranian diplomat I will do everything to make contact with these people and foment trouble at Israeli rear.

I believe this is an issue on which you have not pondered much about.

What are your thoughts on the same ?
