The Civilized Man's Burden

Dr. Pipes has aptly characterized the new parties defending Europe from the civilization wreckers, but civilization's best defense is a good offense. We will have to take the fight to the enemy, and bring civilization to the savages.
One may shake one's head at the thought of the burden, but there is really no alternative. The imperial game has already started, and if we don't compete, we will be shut out. Syria has all but been locked up by Russia, using her leverage with her Iranian ally, although Iran and Turkey are still in the running. Meanwhile, Iran is charging hard to consolidate her gains in Iraq and Lebanon, and Yemen is still up for grabs between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Turkey is trying to reestablish the Ottoman empire, and Libya, disabled by anarchy, is up for grabs.
Ever since France and Britain gave up their empires, their erstwhile colonies have, through their infighting, terrorism and autocracy, proven that men like Cecil Rhodes knew what they were talking about. Without the steadying hand of civilization, the primitives will revert to their feral, tribal state and leave a vacuum ripe for the filling. If we just stand around and lob the occasional missile, uncivilized countries which are only slightly higher up on the food chain, like Russia, Turkey or Iran will beat us to it.
We need to go in and set up secular regimes and destroy any remnants of Islamism, as we did with Nazism. Only then can we secure civilization for the civilized, and bring the natives up to a higher level. Once secured, the new colonies should be available for settlement. Let's not let all that nice seaside real estate go to waste.
