Rise of Western CivilizationismReader comment on item: The Rise of Western Civilizationism Submitted by DONALD EDLIN (United States), Apr 15, 2018 at 17:26 I often take the time to carefully analyze the impact of the Editorially inserted graphics and photos in commentary articles. Here we have a graphic of tiny map of Europe with names & %ages even tinier. I was able to use my grandson's magnifying glass to discover the accurate #'s assigned to each country. Very interesting. It does appear that the Civilizationists are increasing within the core of the EU. Then the snapshot of Putin and Orban (with Putin appropriately on the 'left' in the photo, but actually to the 'right' of Orban) with the sub-title indicating they found the time to "chat amicably". It appears that Orban is starring at the polynya in front of him hoping that he will soon fall into it. "Chat Amicaably" ? Not so sure ! Oy, and poor Nigel Farage is looking around asking . . . "Does anybody understand what the hell I just said ?" Being British, you know, whatever he said certainly "sounds good" to most of us Americans. However, the tell tale editorial message is the face of the woman in the center of the 3rd photo. She appears to be a muslim woman holding a child in her arms at a Political "Sit-in" demonstration of we are told . . . Hungarian Migrants. Lots of bottles of water, and only a few Hijabs. So the migrants are fully hydrated and there are only a few muslims. From the myriad of other photos we all have seen of immigrants at the EU's open borders , it is the opposite situation - Lots of muslims, and definitely not enough water bottles to go around. I do hope you appreciate the Humor I have inserted in my analysis of what is truly a monumental international insurrection throughout the EU. It is a contagious societal disease, and it is on its way across the pond to us. If anyone can find the Antidote - it will be President Trump. Hooray for "the Wall" and tight immigration policies ! Phooey on open borders and open paths to citizenship for "Illegals" ! My paternal grandparents arrived on Ellis Island in 1890 escaping from the pogroms, with one suitcase of personal clothing, and a 2nd bundle with carpet samples that they cherished. My maternal grandparents arrived on Ellis Island in 1893 on their Honeymoon, both 18 yrs old. They all spoke Yiddish, but insisted on speaking English at home. Success also arrived with them. A bevy of entrepreneurs, and just one doctor. One Family settling in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and used their carpet samples to start a furnishings business eventually on Nostrand Avenue. The other lived with a 1st cousin in the Lower East side on Monroe street, they moved to Plainfield NJ, where they had somehow acquired 3 Cows and some chickens. So they sold milk and eggs, and that was the start of an "often" thriving grocery business. That's what we still should expect immigrants to do. They must find a way to be successful. No hand-outs. No entitlements. Work hard. Love what you do. Never give up. Love America. No Federal Funding. None of today's "gaming" the system. Back then there wasn't any "system' to "Game"! So they worked hard and all of their children found success. Some a bit more success than others - but still success ! I haven't seen any headlines in the NY Times, or "Breaking News" on CNN or MSNBC extolling the long lines of immigrants waiting for years & years to get entry visas into Russia or the Peoples Republic China. No, no , no ! But, are there long lines of immigrants trying to get into the US of A ? Oh, yes there are ! Are they willing to risk life & limb! Oh, yes they will ! Use Criminal acts to get here ? Oh, yes they will ! Therefore, let the rest of us who are here watching this say together over & over & over again . . . May G od Bless America !
