Not Submitting to Islam in Pakistan: The story of a Pakistani Jew who decided to keep his rootsReader comment on item: Hungary: Not "Submitting to Islam" Submitted by Prashant, Dec 15, 2018 at 13:00 Dear Dr Pipes, I stumbled upon the fascinating story of a Pakistani person who was born of a Jewish mother and decided to convert back to Judaism. The reference to the story is at the bottom of this message. This story is remarkable for many reasons. It shows how much discrimination religious minorities face in Islamic countries. It also provides examples of people in Pakistan whose ancestors belonged to other religions and who are not able to live non-Muslim lives even though they want to. In essence, this article tells how every Islamic country becomes 98% Muslim by Pakistan. But, most importantly, this article tells that even in an Islamic theocracy it is possible for a brave man to follow his heart and mind. And --something that makes me proud as a Hindu and Indian-- this article gives example of how persecuted people (including Jews) have always found a place in India. India was the 'original America' if you will! A day will come when there will be Pakistani Jews living in Paksitan and if they choose to move to Israel, it will only be for economic/cultural/family reason and it will not be due to religious persecution. I hope all your readers will benefit by reading this article.
