Another sickening collection of lies, terror apologetics, and blood libels.Reader comment on item: Europe is Finished, Predicts Mark Steyn Submitted by Moshe (Israel), Nov 28, 2006 at 15:25 Avenger, you have posted a remarkable masterpiece of delusory hatred talk, which is trying to masquerade as a reasonable, civilized comment. This is why I decided to unmask it. I will start from the beginning, sentence by sentence: "It must be remembered that the establishment of the state of Israel was done by an illegal occupation of foreign lands by Western and European Ashkenazim Jews. It was a forceable occupation of a territory, with the massacre and displacement of the native Palestinians." Avenger, can you tell us where exactly this " illegal occupation of foreign lands by Western and European Ashkenazim Jews" took place? The true facts, not mentioned by you, are: The State of Israel was established on a part of the ancient homeland of the Jewish People, the Land of Israel, in 1948, following UN resolution 181(from November 29, 1947) calling for partition of Palestine between its Jewish and Arab populations, and the establishment of a sovereign Jewish State. This was in principle not different than the establishment of all the other Arab states in the region, except that here a "grave transgression" was committed: a non-Arab, Jewish state was emerging on sacrosanct "dar al Islam" land. On the spot, all the surrounding Arab states jointly attacked the young Jewish state with the declared objective to wipe out Jewish presence in the region, or by their own terminology, "to push the Jews into the sea". They called upon the Arabs living in Jewish populated regions to temporarily leave their homes, to make it more convenient for their armies to "take care" of the Jews without "unnecessary Arab casualties". Unfortunately for them, the Arabs lost that war, and also all the subsequent wars started by them hoping to destroy Israel. And thus the Arab refugee problem was created. "Israeli children are often taught in schools that before the establishment of Israel there was nothing but desert in that place, which is of course far from true." Avenger, Israeli children, in contrast with Palestinian/Arab children, are taught the Truth. And the truth is that prior to the establishment of the State of Israel, or more precisely before the start of the late 19th century Zionist movement, Palestine (which included both banks of the Jordan river) was a sparsely populated, miserable, and neglected district of the Ottoman Empire. There were a few miserable Arab towns and villages, many of which had sizable Jewish communities. In Jerusalem the Jews constituted the largest segment of population already since before the 16th century. At those times however, the lot of the Jews living in the Holly Land was even worse than that of the rest. When the Zionist return home of Jews started, they bought uninhabitable, worthless marshlands, and deserts from local Arab landlords (who were happy to get rid of them for good money) and the Jewish settlers transformed them into prosperous agricultural lands. The prosperity brought about by the homebound Jews, generated a parallel influx of Arabs from the neighboring regions. BTW, the Arab propaganda machinery discovered (invented) that the local Arabs constituted a distinct "Palestinian" people only long after the establishment of the State of Israel, somewhere in the 1960ties. "Since the establishment of Israel, the Palestinian territory has been ghettoized into refugee camps," This is another brazen lie. After Israel was established in 1948, and till the 1967 "six day war", no refugee camp existed on its territory. Also till 1967 there were no "occupied territories": The Gaza strip was under Egyptian control, and the West Bank was under Jordanian (Eastern Palestine, with predominantly Palestinian population). Nevertheless, at that time nobody demanded the establishment of another Palestinian state on those territories. The Palestinian refugees were meticulously kept in miserable refugee camps by their Arab brothers in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt with the declared objective to use them as breeding stock for terrorism against Israel, by which they were hoping to destroy it. Your Arab "brothers" did nothing to ease the plight of these Palestinian refugees; on the contrary, in 1957, the Refugee Conference at Homs, Syria, passed a resolution stating: "Any discussion aimed at a solution of the Palestine problem which will not be based on ensuring the refugees' right to annihilate Israel will be regarded as a desecration of the Arab people and an act of treason (Beirut al Massa, July 15, 1957)." This state of affairs is continuing till our days. Avenger, in all your 2775 words long post I couldn't find one single word of truth. It is all a collection of brazen lies and hatred talk. I could go on and on and show how false and misleading all your sly claims and statements are, but I think it would be a real waste of time. As a final word I would only like to add that you cannot be serious when you claim that "There is no support for the concept of 'Islam' siding with Hitler." The Arabs were enthusiastic supporters of Hitler and Nazi Germany in general, and in particular they were excited about Hitler's "Final Solution" plan for the Jewish People. One of the most prominent Arab Nazi collaborators was Haj Amin al Husseini. Here is a little story which can give an idea who this guy was: "At the end of 1942, Eichmann ordered 10,000 Jewish children sent from Poland to Theresienstadt. The Red Cross offered to trade German civilians for them. Husseini got word of the scheme and protested vehemently to Himmler, warning him that the little Jews would soon become big Jews" Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
