Daniel, God, and cavemen who master acceleration of 196.2 meters per second

Daniel,

You wrongly assume so many things about what I believe that it was with great effort that I (hopefully) understood what you meant.

1. You say "instead of accepting the mathematical probability that life would form somewhere in the cosmos" .

I DO accept not just the probability but almost certainty that life formed on many planets in the cosmos. Under the guidance of the Supreme Consciousness.

2. You write: "you prefer to believe it is more probable that a Supreme Being would magically form out of nowhere [or even more strangely somehow 'create himself' into existence]

You are telling me what I prefer to believe?! No I do NOT believe the Supreme being magically created himself. I believe the Supreme Consciousness ALWAYS existed. As an ancient Egyptian text puts it well:

God is from the beginning, and He hath been from the beginning; He hath existed from of old and was when nothing else had being.

3. You go on to say "and and that this Supreme Being would then have the power to magically create all of the suns, planets, etc"

Why magically? God created the suns planets according to astro-physical laws (which themselves emanate from God!).

4. You seem to think (because you ASSUME) that I believe God created the world suddenly! Even if you consider the Biblical version, you should know that "day" in the Genesis text does NOT mean "24 hours" because the Earth (1 rotation of which is the definition of "day") did not yet exist! "Day" in Genesis means period or cosmic EPOCH. Btw, a "Day of Brahma" (in Hinduism) is measured in billions of years - the same order of magnitude as the Big Bang theory.

5. You mention "Imperfect world filled with imperfect beings". Finally a very intelligent and sublime observation you made. Don't be offended, but as an atheist I am afraid you have no chances of getting an answer to that perennial question.

6. You write: "when you decide to call your speech a "prayer"

Speech? Now that is a bit uncivil . You seem to be stubbornly confusing me with some American republican religious preacher ? I am not even American, much less a republican preacher.

I posted on this site not to propagate political Christain views but to express my concern than your nexy President might be (subconsciously) stained with very perilous beliefs imbibed from Islam in his youth.

7. You write: "

Although I do NOT vouch for the veracity of this episode, I wish to quote from it (with maximum brevity):

It's obvious that they are on a very high scientific level, but their relation with the Supreme Being means a lot more to them than their technical and scientific ability and knowledge. I would say that their religion and their science are all in one."
