Grandma, Christians did evil AGAINST the teachings of Jesus; Muslims did evil AS ORDERED by the Koran

Grandma, all due respect to you, if you are literally a grandmother, but you don't know plain historical facts.

Yes, Crusaders committed atrocities "in the name of (the Church of) their religion" (Christianity).

But they did not (and COULD not) claim they were committing the evil as followers of Jesus Christ who preached that one should LOVE one's fellow-human beings. The Gospels and the New Testament (the MAIN and SACRED TEXT of Christians) do NOT preach killing and hate. This is the truth ! (I point this out although I am NOT a Christian!)

But Muhammad and the Koran (the MAIN and SACRED TEXT of Muslims) DO EXPLCITLY preach killing and subjugation of non-Muslims !

Grandma please READ the Koran. Read at least verses like "Slay the unbelievers, wherever you find them" (Koran, Chapter 9, verse 5), or many similar verses (47:4, 5:3, etc)

Read about the LIFE of Muhammad. Not simply of some Muslim teacher but of the FOUNDER of Islam.

Read Muslim own ORIGINAL sources (as opposed to modern Muslim apologetics) about him! Read the Koran, read the Hadiths. Read for example (at

http://www.answering-islam.org/Silas/asma.htm ) from the "Sirat Rasul Allah" by Ibn Ishaq how Muhammad ordered the killing of a mother of 5 children because she criticized him in her poetry).

Can you even IMAGINE Jesus Christ raiding (in Arabic: "ghazavat") caravans and killing innocent travellers ?! Can you IMAGINE Jesus having sex with a 9 year old girl ?! Can you IMAGINE Jesus taking away the wife of his adopted son to make her ANOTHER wife in an endless series of (12 ? 13 ?) wives ?!

In other words, over the centuries, from time to time, Christians committed evil, as I said in my post, NOT BECAUSE of their religion (even if they, FALSELY acted "in the name" of their religion) but because they were evil as individuals (or were encouraged to do evil by the Church or political powers).

But the evil which Muslims have committed in history they did explicitly BECAUSE of their religion - clearly and directly, NOT because their religious leaders wrongly "interpreted" their religion as you think.

To illustrate by concrete example: Crusaders massacred the population of Jerusalem in 1099 (after the siege) not BECAUSE but AGAINST the teachings of Jesus!

But when Muslims killed MILLIONS of Hindus in their conquest of India and put THOUSANDS

As even the normally sober Encylopaedia Britannica (NOT "hate literature" by any means!) put it well:

while (in Islam) Jews and Christians were assigned a special status as communities possessing scriptures and called the "people of the Book" and, therefore, allowed a degree of religious autonomy, they were required to pay a per capita tax called jizyah ...

... "as opposed to pagans" (Hindus and Buddhists etc), "who were required to either accept Islam OR DIE". - (Encyclopedia Britannica Compact Disc Edition 1997).

To sum it all up, dear Gradma: yes followers of other religions do commit evil, and you are right, not only as individuals but also because of their religion as interpreted by their religious ESTABLISHMENT (church etc) - but

BUT ONLY IN ISALM

do its followers (not all but many of them) commit evil BECAUSE of their RELIGION,

BECAUSE of the clear injunctions in the SACRED TEXT of their religion

and

BECAUSE of the clear EXAMPLE of their FOUNDER !

You, Grandma, on the other hand, although you have good intentions, do not realize that WANTING a religion to be humane does not MAKE it humane. Your kind of naivety and DISREGARD of the TRUTH, unfortunately BALKS the efforts of honest people to HALT the progress of evil that emanates from the depths of Islam. (Not from all of Islam - not all Islam is evil - but from the FOUNDATIONS of Islam). One of the sad results of humane but ignorant people like you is that much of Western Europe is on the way of soon getting strangled by the Islamisation which is underway. It happened because people listened to views like yours and failed to understand the TRUTH in due time. Now it may be too late!

unarmed (!) Buddhist monks to the sword in Bihar in 1193 (since then Buddhism disappeared from India!!) this was NOT AGAINST but BECAUSE (I repeat: BECAUSE) of their Koranic injunction to kill "pagans" !!
