Really? And in which founding document can these words be found? You are the fool in need of an education. The settlers came here to to escape religious persecution in their homeland. When the Constitution/Bill of Rights was drawn up, freedom OF religion was placed in there in order to avoid any future problems with the government persecuting individuals, or trying to force a certain religion on people. Also, when 80%+ of the people in the U.S.A describe themselves as Christian, yes, we need a Christian president.
