Don't get Giddy - Agree!Reader comment on item: Enjoy the Jerusalem Embassy – But Don't Get Giddy Submitted by Leon Kushner, May 15, 2018 at 12:03 Hi Daniel, It's nice to hear you admit that you were wrong about Trump before. I agree with your general theme: Don't get giddy. But I'll stick to the main points: With regards to Israel, so far Trump has shown to be the best US president in history. Finally moving the US embassy to Jerusalem was fantastic but cancelling the Iran nuclear deal was even much more important. If he does nothing more for Israel or the Jewish people, cancelling this deal and putting back crippling sanctions on Iran with the intention of creating regime change, he's done enough. But I'm sure he'll do more. Trump knows that Israel will never split Jerusalem. It will forever remain the undivided Jewish capital. So I'm afraid you could be wrong about Trump again. I agree that we shouldn't be giddy. My motto is not to idolize anyone. I used to idolize Alan Dershowitz years ago but after his unabashed support of the worst president in US history (Obama) even in his second term, I realized that I was duped. So like you yourself had said: When the president does good we should acknowledge that and support him and when he does bad we should call him out. So far vis a vis Israel, he's done great! G-d Bless Trump! Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
