The Palestinian Authority is definitely not going to publicly give up on its "right of return".Reader comment on item: Enjoy the Jerusalem Embassy – But Don't Get Giddy Submitted by Anon (United States), May 15, 2018 at 18:48 Trump knows recognizing "Palestine", or saying that "Jerusalem will be the Palestinian capital", or both, is immensely valuable to the Palestinians and he wouldn't do it without getting an enormous concession in exchange. Having them publicly and explicitly give up on their "right of return (to Israel)" would be viewed as extremely valuable and he may well then make a declaration of his own regarding "viewing parts of Jerusalem as being part of a future Palestinian state and its capital", but in any case, the Palestinian Authority will definitely refuse to publicly give in and accept there'll be no right of "return" to Israel. Even your own analysis concedes the Palestinians would need to give up their so-called right of return to Israel in order to obtain a dramatic declaration from Trump, and they would utterly refuse to do so. By the way, if all Trump does is assert that in future negotiations some parts of Jerusalem would doubtless be handed over to the Palestinians, so that it would then also be true to say that Jerusalem is "Palestine's capital", then there's no harm done and Trump wouldn't even say that without the Palestinians backing down.
