Dr. Pipes is describing a stab in the backReader comment on item: Enjoy the Jerusalem Embassy – But Don't Get Giddy Submitted by Steve Klein (United States), May 15, 2018 at 12:43 Administration officials have denied there is any quid pro quo for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem. There were unsubstantiated reports the administration would ask Israel to relinquish some Arab neighborhoods in the eastern portion of Jerusalem (i.e., divide Jerusalem) but administration officials flatly denied these reports. Former Ambassador to the US, Michael Oren was quoted saying Israel should be prepared to pay a price for the embassy, meaning relinquish Jewish land. This is insane. Should President Trump attempt to extract concessions from Israel, like George W. Bush, I will consider Mr. Trump a man of bad faith. Millions of his supporters should likewise see it as an act of treachery, just like Bush's betrayal in the aftermath of the 9/11/2001 attacks. I hope Pipes is wrong.
