The Real Benefit To IsraelReader comment on item: Enjoy the Jerusalem Embassy – But Don't Get Giddy Submitted by Harry T (United States), May 16, 2018 at 11:09 Although the Embassy is a nice symbolic gesture, I believe it is oft-ballyhooed mostly because the Israeli, and by extension American leadership refuse to broach the real measure which would ensure true Israeli sovereignty over the land; that being full annexation/settlement of Judea and Samaria. A concrete structure that can have its plaque removed at any time changes nothing about the social, political and geographical de facto realities on the ground. Does an embassy preclude half of Jerusalem being occupied by Moslems? No. Does it change the "West Bank" quagmire? Has Trump lifted the building freezes, and further has the Israeli govt even tried to push forward with building? In my humble opinion, Mr. Pipes, the embassy was symbolic at best and a feint at worst. I would like to hear your opinion. Cheers.
