I'm sure you are aware that the treasures of the Coptic Monastery in Tabenna's (today's Nag Hammadi) library included not just Gnostic texts but also fragments of, you guessed it, works by Plato Those rascals, Coptic monks and priests, must also have been avid readers of not just the OT and NT but also the apocrypha AND Plato. The Greek reason and skepticism left a profound effect on not just the monks of Nag Hammadi but also Western philosophers
