The Arabs are ancient people. However, there are no papyri, ostraca, epigraphy, texts, monuments or books that pre-date the death of Muhammad in 632 AD and come from the HIjaz! The sources are silent!

However, if we move way up north towards Israel/Palestine everything changes and we start to find Arabs or Arabaya, Sarqaya or Tayayye in Aramaic

Now, if we move to Mesopotamia or in Aramaic Bet Nahrian then we find Arabs that lived as far back as 9th century BC and Arabs are also mentioned in Herodotus "Histories" some 500 years BC. Herodotus Arabs lived between the Nile Delta and Mesopotamia and this includes Isreal/Palestine, Syria and today's Jordan. And these were the homes of the Lakhmids and Ghassanids that one finds on the eve of the rising of what was to become Islam
