Refuting the lie that the Qur'an tells us about the atom and this time even google verified a bogus translationReader comment on item: Jerusalem, Jordan, and the Jews Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jul 7, 2020 at 08:17 Dr Pipes, This is an old post and it is about the word Dhara or ذرة and Muslim apologists tell us how can an Arab 1400 years ago knew about the atom unless the Qur'an is indeed the words of Allah, and google fell for this nonsense Here is from an old post: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The word ذرة in Q10:61 means Small Red Ant and anyone who claims that it means an atom in the Qur'an is not telling us the truth Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 19, 2017 at 09:53 Dr Pipes I was reading an article by a Muslim apologist that the word ذرة or Dhara in Q10:61 really means atom and how can an illiterate Arab (Muhammad) be telling us about the atom some 1400 years ago unless the Qur'an is the word of the true God! And here is the shameful Sahih International translation where the word ذرة or Dhara becomes atom and not a small red ant https://quran.com/10/61 Now compare the above shameful translation with the real meaning of the word ذرة or Dhara (as Muhammad would have understood it) in Lisan al-Arabic the earliest and most authoritative dictionary of the Arabic language and the word ذرة or Dhara means: النمل الاحمر الصغير Or the small red ants! Nothing about an atom as we are told in the shameful Sahih International translation and here is Lisan al-Arab and the word ذرة or Dhara http://library.islamweb.net/newlibrary/display_book.php?idfrom=2903&idto=2903&bk_no=122&ID=2907 Well if we turn to al-Mufasereen we discover that the word ذرة really means small red ant which Muhammad must have regarded it as very small creature and indeed if we turn to modern dictionaries we can still find that the word means: صغار النمل Or small ants And here is an honest Muslim Arab who tells us that the word Dhara means small ant http://www.aleqt.com/2014/02/22/article_827734.html We also find a modern meaning for the word and it is اصغر جزء في عنصر ما Or the smallest part of an element And this is what happened when modern Muslims were looking for an Arabic word for atom they had to find a word in the Qur'an that means very small and in this case they selected the word Dhara or small red ant in Q10:61 Now enter the modern world and Muslim apologists and a small red ant becomes an atom and the fraudulent question of how can a 7th century Arab be talking about an atom unless the Qur'an is a book of science and it is the word of the real God! Unbelievable lies and ignorance but it becomes even worse when Arabic speaking Muslims accept this nonsense propagated by a Turk whose mother tongue is not Arabic! For the readers: Be careful of accepting translations from Arabic to English as many translations' aim is to provide a positive spin about Islam! The truth? It does not even matter -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recently I checked googletranslate about this lie. Now, if you google the word ذرة googletranslate will translate it as: Corn! This is absolute nonsense and here is how the word is read and it is all in the short vowels and the missing shadda 1. ذُرَة or Dhura (notice the damma above the dhal and the fatha above the letter Ra) and this means Corn 2. ذَرّة or Dharra (notice the fatha above the Dhal and the shadda or double consonant above the Ra) and this means: Red small ant and in modern Arabic small red ant and atom Now if you check googletranslate, google verifies this bogus translation and here is the link https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk01uZwj71YyQcq71kVBB8Q0d5CIdrw%3A1594123086099&ei=TmMEX9TGBZu3tQb745-4Cw&q=%D8%B0%D8%B1%D9%91%D8%A9+googletranslate+&oq=%D8%B0%D8%B1%D9%91%D8%A9+googletranslate+&gs_lcp= The disaster here is that google verifies a bogus translation and no sane Arab would not be aware that the word Dhara could be corn or small red ant or atom depending on the short vowels and the shadda and if the source is the Qur'an or modern classical Arabic Never trust Arabic to English translations even if the translation is "community verified" by google
