Reply to SueReader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Allonehhob (Canada), Sep 30, 2005 at 17:41 Your statements are between " ""first of all I like to thank you for your answer I really liked it very much. I just wanted to say a thing about it in order to make things clearer." You are most welcome "1. The subject of the debate is whether Allah is God or not, and not whether Muhammad (pbuh) delivered a wrong message or not." Ok "2. Muhammad (pbuh) didn't destroy the image of God. Reading the Quran I believe it talks about how God is the creator of the Universe, how he is the Merciful, how he loves everybody, but how he at the same time doesn't like the ones with bad deeds. God in the Quran is a balance between Love and Capability to punish as well. You have to be good to reach the love and the mercy. For me i think it's a good image of a God and not a destroyed one. This is the reasons why Muslims don't believe of the death of Jesus because they believe God can forgive them without anyone sacrificing. You just have to tell him please forgive me to get the forgiveness. You don't even have to confess to anyone in the Mosque to get the forgiveness. it's a direct connection between the God and the people. Pls also read my answer about the miracles in the Quran that are not available in any other book, which is the reason Muslims believe it's not from Muhammad." Love and mercy is only conditional in Islam, it is like saying to my son, I love you when you do well at school, and I will not love you if you did badly in school. The fact is that a parent will love his/her children regardless of what they are and how they do. Unconditional love is what JESUS taught and proved in his life and his death The characters of GOD (Allah) in Islam are very close to an image of human being who gets angry, frustrated, hatred, etc (all of these characters are of humans who needs anger management training). Jesus taught us that our justice system is different from GODs justice system, and we are not to judge others with our standards. It is GODs job not Humans Miracles in Quran (I'jaz): Yes I have read about the scientific miracles that some new Muslims claim, you know this is a long story. When I read the suras and the number 19 etc, and because I know Arabic, all of the miracles that Muslims claim in the Quran are illusions of Arabic language, and suras that can be interpreted in so many different ways. Having said that, it doesn't mean that there is no punishment and reward in Christianity, but these are not done during the life time and it is not for anyone on each to decide who dies and who lives. "3. We believe that Jesus has the soul of Allah, alike other people. It means that God put the soul in the people and not that God's soul is in Jesus or anyone else. You can read the whole Quran to see this mentioned in other situations, and also read the translations of the Quran to understand that it's meant this way and not that God is in Jesus (pbuh)." Ok, btw I read the Quran so many times in Arabic "4. We believe that Jesus made lots of miracles, as well as all other prophets. ALL prophets in the Quran had miracles, not only Jesus. " Jesus not only made miracles, he defeated the death, by bringing people to life from death and by his resurrection, he had the power to forgive sins, it is the new testimony which I believe that you need to read. "5. Sorry but i never heard in Islam anything about Jesus being the only unsinful person. But this doesn't make him a God for me if it's true. It just makes him a good person and making sins doesn't make other any worse if they ask for forgiveness." It is mentioned in the hadith, I also heard this from Muslims. Anyway if you don't believe in it that's ok "6. We believe that the birth of Jesus was a miracle, exactly like the birth of Eve was a miracle. and exactly like all the prophets have miracles. I mentioned that before. We believe that God created Adam without parents. HE created Eve from Adam without any mother, and HE created Jesus from Mary without any father. So it's more a prove that God is capable of anything and not that he sent his son to earth." There is no comparison between (Eve, Adam) and JESUS. Eve and Adam were sinners, Jesus is not. And yes GOD is capable of anything that's why we believe that he is capable of having a human body and come to earth and live with humans to show them his love, and to set an example for unconditional love "7. We believe that Mary is a Holy person like a lot of other women mentioned in the Quran, for example the Queen of Chiba, and the wife of Pharaon who has taken Moses (pbuh). Because they were believers, and not because she's the mother of the God or the holiest in the history of humanity." There is no comparison between Holy mother of Christ and any woman in history, that's what we believe. Mother Mary (Sitna Myriam) is until today making miracles, please read the history or maybe look at recent miracles done by her one is in "Loord" on the border of Italy. These miracles were seen by thousands of people and thousands were cured from challenging diseases and disabilities thanks to Mother Mary "8. We believe that Jesus will come again NOT to judge the people. GOD judges the people in Islam. We believe that Jesus will come, because he is not dead yet. We believe that at the time of the cross story God saved him and took him to him. He's not dead and he wasn't crossed. So he will come again to prove this to the people. Not to judge them." Jesus said, if you know me you know the father, Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, yes you are right he is alive and as he promised he will stay with us until the end of the days. He is alive not because he didn't die, he died and he rose from death on the third day of his crucifixion. Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection in so many occasions; Jesus was the one who was witnessed by thousands and by his mother on the cross. He was the one who forgave his prosecutors when he was on the cross. If Jesus would accept that someone else will take his place and die for him then all of his teachings about love, peace and scarifies are wrong. Since we know that his teachings are true then we totally believe that he was the one on the cross. There is thousands of proof about his death in the old testimony which was written thousands of years before Christ. And also through history and through the new testimony. "9. When i talked about 3 persons i meant the Trinity. Sorry for the confusion. We don't believe in it, cause a father and a son cannot be like the joints of one finger, for my mind it can only be like 2 fingers. Me and my father cannot be one if we are two bodies." I think I explained this, although it is hard for anyone to understand, GOD is capable of doing what we believe he did. "10. I believe that the old and new testaments have been changed from the original. and that the original didn't mention anything about the trinity. (but again u can read my answer why i do believe in a book and not the other). " Although you believe that the bibles are corrupt, it seems to me that Mohammad took what suites him from the bible and the things that would challenge Islam was ignored and claimed to be corrupted. The bibles that we believe in were written by 4 different disciples, in four different locations and four different timing and languages, and the teachings and life of Jesus are matched between all of the bibles. You assume that bibles are corrupt because your reference is the Quran, which we believe that it is not a word from GOD. How are we going to solve this? I think you need to study history, old testimony, and at least give some credit to the new testimony, maybe you will find something that you can believe in. "11. I do believe in interfaith discussion if it is not a destructive discussion. What u wrote is really very nicely written, and this is the way i would accept to discuss. However, what is usually happening is that people are just critiszing the Islam, thinking no one can critize their faith. I believe this is the reason why Muslims start showing them it could be also the other way round. I have read in this site about all the different religions, but sadly i have only found a debate about Islam and not about any other religion. So maybe this explains that it's not an interfaith discussion, it's just all about cirtisizing Islam or trying to prove it's wrong. And this is not the way it should be. " I respect your opinion GOD bless you and my apology if I offended anyone on this site
