Who cares how smart I am ? Let's concentrate on theology : God of AbrahamReader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Nuray (Portugal), Jan 17, 2006 at 16:49 I won't read your second comment. No need to loose time for sending critics on non-religious matters like how smart I am.I am going to answer your previous questions as I promised before. You asked that "what evidence do you have that Allah that pre-Islamic Arabian pagan deity is indeed the God of the Jews and Christians and the Hindus and the Buddhists and the rest of humanity?" Hinduism and Buddhism are never mentioned in holly books of Jews and Christians and Muslims. Perhaps they are not originally generated from Middle East. But they can be put in the category of idol worshipping, which is rejected by Jews and Christians and Muslims. Therefore, it is better to eliminate Hinduism and Buddhism from our discussion. Next, we should find the answers of the following questions (1) who is God of the Jews and Christians? (2) is God of the Jews the same as God of the Christians? Although Jews never accepted prophecy of Jesus during his life time there is a consensus that God of the Jews the is same as God of the Christians. Why? Because both Jews and Christians claim that they worship God of Abraham who lived almost 4000 years ago. Each of Jews, whose messenger Moses who lived 3500 years ago, claim that Abraham was a Jewish. Christians, whose messenger Jesus who lived 2000 years ago, claim that Abraham was a Christian. This discussion is further stirred by Muslims whose messenger Muhammed, peace upon him, who lived 1400 years ago, claim that Abraham was neither a Jewish nor a Christian but a Muslim. God of Abraham is Allah. Source of all these knowledge is based on holly books. There is no archaeological evidence that someone called Abraham lived in the Middle East. We know story of Abraham from one of the books of Moses, Genesis also referred as Jewish Bible. The time gap between Abraham and Moses are almost 500 years. As you see we are here talking about huge time gap. One can argue that the story could be fabricated in ancient times. Whatever the contradictions are almost %53 of world population (Jews+Christians+Muslims) believe the story of Abraham. Both Jews and Christians claim that the story of Abraham starts from Iraq (Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq) ends in Palestine. He travels to Syria, Palestine and Egypt. Muslims claim that Abraham also visited Arabia and built Kaaba (the House of God) in Mecca. Is that possible? Yes, If he goes from Iraq to Syria, Palestine and Egypt why not to Mecca which was on the main trade route from Yemen to Syria. It shouldn't be a problem for a very mobile person like Abraham. Although Muslims worship God of Abraham by -choosing Kaaba as a meeting point at every year, -recite the name of Abraham five times a day, -circumcising children and converts (circumcision was ordained by God in His covenant with Abraham), -sacrificing animals (Old Testament also says so) -refusing idolatry, which was basic the teaching of Abraham Jews and Christians continue claim that Muslims worship ancient Sumerian Moon God, which was originally from home town of Abraham. Actually, they didn't study ancient religions very well. They missed most important factor; Those who worship Moon God don't believe in resurrection but Muslims believe the day of resurrection like Jews and Christians. Then what's the problem? (1) The (Jewish) Bible does not say that Abraham built the Kaaba in Mecca and prayed for an Arab prophet to come with revelations. The Jews are known are descendants of Abraham's son Isaac. The Arabs are descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael. Muslims believe that Abraham and his son Ishmael built the Kaaba. Obviously, Jews did record life of legitimate son of Abraham, not the that of Ishmael. Jews and Arabs have been in hostility with one another for almost 4000 years. No one should expect to find any information about an Arab prophet in their holy books. Muslims claims that their books are corrupted. No hope to find anything about an Arab prophet. (2) Christians are very angry with Muslims. Because Quran rejects the divinity of Jesus which is clearly a Biblical message. It reduces Jesus from God position to equality with the prophets like Moses or Abraham. Muslims refuses that God of Abraham becomes Jesus. They prefer worshipping God of Abraham, not one of His servants. (3) Christians claims that Muhammed, peace upon him, is a false prophet. Because Biblical version and Quranic version of events are not carbon copy of each others. A very good explanation comes from Muslims claiming that the Jews and Christians have changed the Bible. God of Abraham warned Jews and indirectly Christians not to change a single letter of God's Word " And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book" (Revelation 22:18) But They didn't listen to Him. Then, God of Abraham decided keep his last book from any corruption. Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (15:9) Muslims pray to God of Abraham five times a day and never touch any word of Quran. This is another reason why they pray in the same language of their messenger, Arabic.
