Richard is Brilliant!!!Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Omar (United States), Jan 30, 2006 at 15:52 Hey Richard,Did you say "You see, the Bible is what I use to measure Muhammad, his claims to prophet hood and his actions? By Biblical standards he has failed miserably."? That is circular reasoning!!! You can't seek the truth using what the Bible defines as the truth!! You need to use common sense. Does Christianity make any sense? Honestly, it doesn't not make any sense. That "Original Sin" story which makes all humanity responsible for something they didn't do!! Ya, sure. Each division of Christianity has its own different thoughts. That is because it is not common sense. They divided into many churches and sects so that each one may try to understand what the heck the Bible is trying to say using his own sense. "Sacrifice".... ha. It's like having my father giving me $100 and telling me "if you buy drugs I am going to kill myself". Sins and no punishment, sounds cool. Why wouldn't I expect Jesus sacrifice his "life" or "whatever" for non-christians. Doesn't he love all humans whatever they do. No wonder why Christians keep on sinning and sinning as they have "faith in Jesus Christ". I am sure he is going look soooo EVIL when I burn in hell, assuming that Christian's claims are true. But Jesus didn't sacrifice anything. He literally slept for some time and then woke up and went to heaven (if he was killed in the first place). What makes you now that he felt pain if he was really God and could heal people. In fact he didn't have any choice. He was taken by force, wasn't he? A Sacrifice is when you give out something you own willingly knowing that it won't come back. His soul came back, and he didn't give it out his life willingly. Do you still call it a "Sacrifice"? The "Shield of the Trinity" doesn't make sense either. All what you can argue about is that you are sooo intelligent to understand something that doesn't make sense. Good for You. God is one. Also, Jesus Christ, The Father, Holy Spirit are 3 separate persons. Jesus is God, the Father is God, the Holy Spirit is God. Therefore God is an Adjective!!! Just like saying: Jesus is "Happy", the Father is "Happy", and the Holy Spirit is "Happy". Now it makes Sense, Brilliant!!! But also you can look at God as a TEAM, right. They can all work as One!!! What a religion that encourages team work. But wait, another way to look at God is as a box !!! It has Width, Length, and Height!!! Awesome, we just got ourselves another Trinity!!! By the way, I did not make that up. Thats all mentioned in websites by Christians who are trying to explain their beliefs. I would like to hear your analogies too!! You may have other useful examples like a "Tree" with 3 branches or a Sandwitch !!! Wait, A Sandwitch won't work, since Jesus alone is a whole meal with "wine" and "bread" (Matthew)!!! Honestly, I prefer believing in God as One Being. God created me. If he wanted me to learn about him, he would present his nature in a way that all his creatures would understand, and indeed he did. Honestly, I think my religion is more understandable and makes more sense. I still believe in One God. I worship him 5 times a day (more than you do by many times). I try not to sin, and when I do, I ask for forgiveness. I don't have to do some ridiculous confessions. I don't have to convince myself with some "12 step program" to know that drinking is harmful for my life and health. I don't have to convince myself that giving the poor is a "human" or "nice" thing since I know that it's their "right". Sure, you may convince others about your view using your lies (no "love" in the Quran,ya right) and ignorance (you already proved that), but you won't shake my faith for just one second. And may God forgive me for all what I had just said about him and Jesus (peace be upom him). If you read well the 77 Branches of faith you will understand why muslims must respect Jesus. But honestly your beliefs about Jesus are so ridiculous!!! Enjoy the wine and bread!!! Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
