Tammuz

Tammuz was an ancient deity in the middle east. The women used to worship it.
They would put lead in it's eyes, then set a fire close by, and when the lead got hot it would melt and make the idol look as if it was crying. You can find this in the Bible, I forget if it Jeremiah.
Also, why in the earth would the Rabbinic authority allow one of the Hebrew months to be called Tamuz? after an idol. I find this very disturbing. They should have stuck with the example in the Torah, the first month, the second month...etc.
