was the universe created in six days?

while we don't really care what the scientists say about the creation of the earth, since scientists also used to say that humans evolved from monkeys but now say that there was intelligence behind evolution, meaning that it didnt happen by itself but someone (God) made it happen and in some time they may even say that evolution didnt ever happen. (see http://www.thestoneage.org/about_site.php , http://www.harunyahya.com/index.php ) So if God says He created the earth in six days then He created it in six days. God only has to say "be" and it will be. He doesnt have to physically make anything. who knows, scientists may soon say that the world was created in six days. however, some commentators say that the verse in the Holy Quraan means that the world was created in six phases, and the word "day" in arabic also means "phase.
