If the Trinity does not exist, neither do any of you!!Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Servant of God (Canada), Sep 10, 2006 at 19:18 To Kr, Nuray and all the Muslims who have contributed to this wesite: First of all let me say that Muslims are great people and I have many good Muslim friends so please do not take this personally. Like you, I believe what I believe and I have the right to defend my faith. And just as you question my faith, I too have the right to question your faith. Please be sure to read to the end. The Trinity was not something made up by the Church after the death of Christ. In fact in the very first paragraph of the first book of the Bible (Genesis) , in the Old Testament or Torah, God introduces Himself as the Trinity. The first verse of the Bible (from the Old Testament) says: In the beginning there was God (so we know for sure there was one person) Then it says: God sent out his Word through which he creaated the whole universe (so we know that God is the Creator and it is through His Word that He created everything). What this means is that God did not sit down and put the world together but he spoke it into existence). God said: Let there be light and there was light. What is the difference between God's Word and my Word. If I say "let there be light" nothing is going to happen. The reason is that unlike my word, God's Word is living and because it has life even though it leaves God and is still God's word, it can live and work independently of God and therefore is a separate entity (another person). Then the Bible says that God sent out His Spirit which hovered over everthing that the Word had created and breathed life into it. Now because God's Spirit is also living and so, although it leaves God, it still has life and can live and work independently of God and therefore is also a separate entity (another person). Though the Word and Spirit are separate persons they are still part of God and therefore still God. So we have established that there is one God but three persons: God the Creator, God the Word and God the Spirit. This is what John said so eloquently in the New Testament and which all of you have been quoting to death: In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God and the Word became flesh. So now how did God the Creator, Word and Spirit become God the Father, Son and Spirit and why is Jesus called the Son of God. Before I explain that let me first continue with what Genesis says about us people in the same Chapter. The Bible then says: After God had created the universe and everything in it then God said: "Let US (because he is more than one person) make man in our own image" . So God took some mud (which we know was created through His Word) and formed man. Then He breathed His Spirit into man and the man came to life (just like He had done with everything else He created in the universe). Then it says that God said that it was not good for man to be alone (because God is not alone, He is three persons) so God decided to create a companion for man. The Bible says that God put Adam into a deep sleep, then He took one of Adam's ribs and fashioned it into a woman and breathed life into her. Now if the woman is just one of Adam's ribs, why is she referred to as a person and not just Adam's rib? The reason is the same, even though she is basically Adam's rib, she is living and because she has life and can live and work independently of man she becomes a separate entity, another person. Then the Bible says that the man (Adam) and the woman (his rib) had a child - how did that happen? As we know, the sperm of man left his body and entered the body of the woman but because the sperm still had life, it continued to grow and was given birth. Now on birth why is it that the sperm becomes another person?. The same reason, because although it is still Adam's sperm, but because it has life and can live and work independently of man it becomes a another person.. That is how God made us in his image - He did not make us look like Him but he made us a Trinitarian family. Now that we have established that we have Man, his rib and sperm (and they are all one and the same 'Man" yet they are three separate persons) how do they become Father, Mother and son. When the sperm is given birth, by virtue of its sex, if it is a boy it becomes a son and if it is a girl it becomes a daughter. And by virtue of the birth of the child the man and woman become father and mother. Now if man's rib and sperm can be separate persons and do so much, how much more powerfull is God's Word!!! We are told that the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her that she was going to have a child and that he would be "Emmanuel" (which means "God with us"). When Mary asked how this could be because she was not married, the Angel told her that the Spirit of the Lord would overshadow her and she would conceive a Child. Now what does all this mean? Well, it means that the Angel Gabriel spoke "God's Word" (the seond person of the Trinity) to Mary and because Mary was without sin she could receive the Word of God into her being (she internalized the Word) and then just as the Angel had said the Spirit of God (the Third person of the Trinity) came over Mary and the shadow of the Holy Spirit covered Mary from head to toe and the Word that was inside her became flesh (Just as John said ....and the Word became flesh). Impossible you say?? Well now science has proved that a woman can be impregnated with the sperm without having sex and if Muhammed (as he claims) could be given God's word, and Muslim's can memorize it in their minds, so why should it be impossible for God's Word to be internalized with Mary. When the word that had become flesh was given birth, because it was a boy it was called 'SON' and so God the Word beocmes God the Son and by virtue of the birth of the SON, God the Creator becomes God the Father. Now if all those who think the Trinity is a stretch of the imagination, then I am sorry to say you yourselves cannot be called persons but are the insignificant, miniscule sperm of your fathers!! Now that I have answered your question in detail, without side-tracking, dodging or evading the question, I have some burning questions for you Muslims. The Muslims claim they do not believe in idol worship of any kind so why is it that on you Holiest places you have an image of the crescent moon? When any other faith has a picture of stature of something in their Holy places they are accused of idol worship!! If Muslims follow the Abrahamic covenant with God, how is it that the Muslims do not offer their sacrifice to God on an Altar as Abraham was specifically instructed to do so? Muslims are so carefull to do wazoo (wash their hands upto their elbows and feet and whatnot before praying and yet I have seen them offer Qurbani to their 'Allah' the Almighty on the dirtiest streets in Muslim countries. The Christians are accused by Muslims of rewriting the Bible and that Mary was not a virgin and Jesus is not God, or the Son of God. I would like to put to you that if all this were not true, how would we know about the Angel Gabriel. Thankfully the Bible was written way before tthe Quran, so if anyone made it up or copied it, it was definitely not the Christians. And if you can suggest that Jesus is not God, that we made it up, then why cannot we suggest that Muhammad (who was just a man) could have taken bits and pieces from the Jewish and Christian faiths to authenticate Islam and changed it to start his own religion.. In fact throughout the Old Testament and Torah which Muslims profess to believe, all the prophets (ofcourse Muslims do not conisder them prophets as Muhammed is supposed to be the only prophet) that were sent by God were accompanied by God's signs, miracles and power. And if Muslims believe all that Moses did, and that God spoke to Him and gave Him the Commandments and worked great miracles to show he was from God, how is it that Muhammad did not do or say anything to show he was greater than Moses or was God's Prophet? And my most important question is: I understand that Muhammad went up to heaven on a white horse from the place where the Al Aqsa mosque is built in Jerusalem and that is why Muslims claim that Jerusalem is important to them and they must have it, then my question is, if Muslims know that Muhammad went up to heaven, why is it that every time the name of Muhammed is uttered by Muslims it has to be followed by "peace be upon him". Don't you think Muhammed would be at peace in Heaven? As all of you have been going on in your explanations of paradise, shouldn't Muhammed already be peacefully reclining on a couch??!!! Or is Muhammad's paradise like Saudi Arabia where you can have 72 virgins but no peace? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
