Give the people of Islam a chance to decide if Allah is God.Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? Submitted by Priya (United Kingdom), Oct 20, 2006 at 14:06 Hi Everybody, This is an interesting debate. It's great to have a platform were we can discuss and express our views. I have learnt a lot about Islam, ,Judaism and Christianity. And it much interesting to learn when people argue and debate. From what I gather from reading all the view points and also from what is happening in the world today, is that the people from the religion of Islam suffer from some kind of sensitivity and insecurity about themselves and the future of their religion which I don't understand at all. Please do not misunderstand. This is meant to be no offence. I was a firm believer that all religions lead to God and respected all places of worship. Though not a Muslim, I had a lot of respect for the religion. However, my mindset is changing. If Allah is truly God, the supreme supernatural power beyond humans, the absolute and all that the Koran and Moslems say is true, then what is it that they fear so much, what is it that they are insecure about? The truth will always prevail. In addition, if Allah, their God is with Islam, nobody can be against them. Allah will reveal the truth to every man. Then why is it that most Moslem countries are against other religions and will not tolerate others in their country. While they go around the world and migrate in huge numbers to other Christian Countries and propagate that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the US and try to spread Islam (these countries let them because their religion believed in freedom of choice) why are they not allowing that. Why are they persecuting and killing others. Why are they not confident enough to say that we are the truth, we are open, come into our country, our people have realized the truth. So nobody will be converted to Christianity or any other religion. People and leaders of the Islamic community can do that, if they have enough confidence in the Koran. Let the people decide what they want. Give opportunity to every man, woman and child to hear about all the religions and faiths ,then let them decide. Otherwise, this whole issue is one sided. Give everybody the chance to hear both sides, and then they can decide. It's not the religious preachers who should decide for around 1 billion Moslems. The second reason, is the constant bickering, crying, demonstration and violence over anything and everything, like a small child ,that has never grown up to maturity. I don't mean to offend, but Pope quoted somebody's words, who said something centuries ago. I mean, what difference does that make to the religion, if the religion is confident enough that is not true. It was not what he said. And what some body once said is history and nobody can change it. But most of all, one incident made me lose all respect for the Islam is the incident of abducting the reporters in Palestine and their forced open conversion to Islam. I mean, they come back and say they were forced to say that at Gunpoint. I thought the people who did that had no respect for Allah. I cannot be convinced that at least those guys who did that believed Allah was truly God or gave him the due respect. Was not that like treating your religion like trash. It like raping a woman, and claiming you made love to her or that she was so willing to give in. Neither Mohammed , Jesus, George bush nor any man who walked on the earth, great or small has any to take away the freedom or choice of another. Man can make another man do anything by force. But, nobody can change the heart of a man except for himself. Openly confessing that Allah is God cannot change the mind. No political and religious leader can enter the hearts of Moslems and find if in his or heart they truly believe Allah is God. Unless people are given the freedom to say otherwise , how can you claim they are truly Moslems. So it is up to each person to hear both the sides, feel it in their hearts and make a decision. Give them a chance. While Christian nations are open to Islam, Islam nations should also be open to Christianity and then the true God will prevail. Let people decide if Jesus is truly the son of God or Mohammed is the ultimate prophet. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
