fast change vs slowReader comment on item: Islamism with a Human Face? Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jun 2, 2014 at 02:13 Hi, Myth You speak of the changes in Turkish Islam in Germany, and outgrowth from it. I see more radical changes happening, much faster. In fact, I don't even expect Islam to CHANGE so much as I expect it to disappear. The example I gave of what would happen if Mecca were to be destroyed, was just a nod to the fact that, yes, Islam CAN change -- just as any other religion can change and has changed. The world is rapidly being integrated; people are being thrown into social situations with others of many religious and philosophical backgrounds. There is a widespread abandonment of Christian and Jewish values; and this is bound to spread to other cultures. This has left a vast spiritual void, particularly in formerly Christian and Jewish cultures, but spreading all over the earth: a void which some are trying to fill with atheism, hedonism and other dead-end philosophies. In the midst of this, the Bible remains as a beacon of sanity, and the basis of sound living -- things which the world greatly needs today and will desperately need in the future. I expect the scriptures themselves to rise to the top in the end. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
