18% muslims is the beginning of the danger zone for democraciesReader comment on item: How Can Israel Win the Palestinian Conflict? Submitted by Prashant (India), Jan 16, 2023 at 11:08 Dear Dr Pipes, reader Robert reported that 18% of Israeli population is Muslim now. This is the beginning of the danger zone. In a democratic election there are 100 votes to go around. With 18% Muslims, a leftist candidate is sure to get these 18 votes. That leaves 82 votes to be decided. For the Right to win the elections, it has to get 51 of these 82 votes. Which is very difficult. Also note for the Islamists, a non-muslim leftist is better than a Muslim. Some voters will turn away from a Muslim candidate. A run-of-the-mill leftist will look like everyone else but would vote to the taste of Muslims. No wonder Ilhan Omar loves AOC in the USA. Tough luck Robert. We face the same problem in India. We cannot change our Constitution to say that Muslims will get exactly the same rights in India that they give to the dhimmis in KSA. We are bound by our oath of decency and freedom. And, thus, the ugly Islamic hypocrisy continues. Muslim readers of this message will lie up front and laugh at me in private. Leftists will not admit that Islamic theocracies must be completely unacceptable. Such is life.
