If you stopped for a second whining about MONEY you would find out that GDP ("richness" as you spoiled communist like to say) is not the sole index on how to judge a country.

Why some EU countries are poor? Because they have been under communism (your friends) or military regimes (probably your other friends).

REGARDLESS, the former communist countries, BEFORE the plague of communism brought to the world composers, scientists, artists. Same can be said for Franco's Spain. Same can be said even for communist cuba, south american regimes or buddist asian countries

Look in your DEAR muslim countries. Not only poverty is present EVEN in oil country but LITERACY RATE is LOW. that's because for muslims ILLITERACY is WIDELY RECOMMENDED. A culture that degrades women to mere breeders is ok with letting women be illiterate. No such thing happens in even Cuba or south america or 3rd world countries everywhere.

Also, the mullahs need to keep the people illiterate so they can control them better.

It's not said that mere monetary richness is the sole need for a country. Armenia is poor and has been destroyed by beloved muslims turks that performed the first genocide of the century, but has a literacy rate higher than the majority muslim countries. Armenia gave more thinkers and more to history than the whole MUSLIM WORLD combined.
