Dreamers of Doom

First off, I would like to apologize to all the people on this site for the less than informed comments of the "liberal filipino." Not all Pinoys are wishy-washy, jihadist-loving, dhimmis. There are true Filipinos who realize the world is in a very real fight for survival against left-wing extremists and religious zealots who want to destroy everything humanity has built and replace it with a pipe dream that will only bring misery to the world.

Yes you heard me my "distinguished countryman." Based on your writings you're are just another "liberal" snake oil salesman pushing the ideal of "socialist utopia." Not that you guys know what it actually is of course. That's why you spend most of your time railing against "globalization", "capitalism" and "western influence." But when someone comes up and asks you what will happen when this "socialist dream" comes to fruition all you have is vague descriptions of how everyone will be nice to each other and that there will be no more hurt, pain, sin, blah, blah, blah. If pressed for actual details you would just huff and dismiss the person as another right-wing nut-job.

Don't get me wrong though, I too believe that there are gross inequities in the world and that the more developed countries should address them. But bringing down the civilization that has brought so much advancement to humanity is not the answer. And throwing your support to failed ideologies and the totalitarian muslim faith is just stupid.

I for one believe that the Americans and the West have much to answer for. But we can also learn much from them as well and apply what they have accomplished to our own societies so we too can become "the guy with the big stick." The best example of this is China. If you, liberal filipino, and your friends still think the People's Republic is a communist paradise you really should cut down on what you are smoking.

China is a rabid capitalist oligarchy that only pays lip service to the communist agenda. If you look even closer its the Emperors and the Mandarinate all over again. Except that the Emperor is chosen by the Mandarins (the Chinese "communist" party) and these royals are encouraging the peasants to become rich (minus the exorbitant taxes of course). I may not like China's politics or their expansionist tendencies but I have to admire their adaptability to the times and how they were able to make modern advances work for them.

The same can't be said of true communist countries who have degenerated into insane kingdoms ruled by cults of personality (north korea), or resort to the tried and true tactic of one party tyranny (the communist run Indian State of Kerala who tried to do away with elections, the same system that brought them to power). Boy you guys really are all equal under communism and socialism!

Even Russia, the birthplace of the communist utopia, has rejected marx's ideology and reverted back to autocracy. I guess they traded one tyrannical regime for another. At least the latter one gives Russians a slim chance to improve their lot. communism/socialism does not give them any chance. With all these failures it's not surprising that the liberal "intelligentsia" have hopped on to another bandwagon, namely the defense of those the Western New World Order is persecuting.

Normally this would mean the poor, the dispossessed, the religiously persecuted, the downtrodden which, in principle, I support. Unfortunately this liberal fad is mutating into the backing of muslim religious totalitarians, the current target of the West, that have no qualms about trampling on the rights of free speech and equality for all, the very same things liberals supposedly hold dear. This has happened during the Iranian Revolution where the left wing parties allied with the ayatollahs to bring down the shah. The left wingers thought they could control the religious fanatics but in the end the lefties were the first to get muzzled, imprisoned and executed by this neo-imamate. And now we have to face the threat of world annihilation since the top proponents of these depraved belief systems are now armed with nuclear weapons.

But even with this evidence and the present terrorism being perpetrated by islam and socialism/communism, the liberals still have their blinders on and see only the faults of Western decadence. filipino liberal is like many in the liberal movement who are trapped in a dangerous dream where moral relativism, self-hate, appeasement, and surrender will ultimately bring about peace and harmony. All this will usher in is a nightmare world of religious dictatorships and communal deprivations. filipino liberal please WAKE UP. It's either that or just DIE in your sleep.
