Leaping quanta, and other mattersReader comment on item: Siege in Sydney Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jan 21, 2015 at 23:58
Yikes, Waza, you sound like a social scientist!
I honestly don't know about this, Waz, having never lived around Muslims. I've lived around American Blacks, Mexicans and poor Whites, generally in combination. There was never anything "stealthy" about that bunch -- they just had a lifestyle that included foul language, loud music, and a nasty habit of mugging people, that tended to drive as many as could afford it to leave the neighborhood. I thought the situation "from Norway to Australia" was along those lines; so I may have been wrong.
That sort of thing a bloke does with himself in private -- is that called "being in touch"? Yeah, it does make one sort of happy, able to get away from it all. In the US, once someone gets enough money, especially if he's married, he packs up his family and moves to the suburbs. We've gone one further -- we're practically in the boondocks.
1. "longer than we think..." I suppose you're talking about end-times prophecies. The way I have it figured, I might get to see Zechariah 14 happen while I'm still alive. Oh joy, joy! (sarcasm) Nuclear war -- just the thing to ward off boredom. My other option is to die before that happens. At age 66, that might not be so far away. I have a Muslim doctor, who says, "You're a ticking time bomb, ready to explode!" I've never heard it put that way; but when a Muslim talks about these things, it gets scary, don't you think? 2. "...we make history every day..." Hah. I AM history. I was part of the Vietnam War, the Counterculture and the Jesus Movement -- all momentous happenings, all of them completely screwed up by the historians so that they aren't anything like what I remembered. "Making history" is greatly over-rated. 3. "...bad things will happen if people are not made aware of the potential losses...." Yeah, as Isaiah said, "Who has believed our report?" Do you know why I do this prophecy stuff? Because I like looking into things, investigating life. In Bible prophecies, God gives us tidy hooks to hang things on as we sort out the mess around us, and helps us make sense of it all. That's what I do, what I'm interested in, so of course, that's what I like to talk about. It is nice to think I'm doing some good, in warning people -- maybe even eternal good, if it causes someone to abandon wickedness and return to God; but if I didn't enjoy it, I don't think I would do it. Back to "paradigms" . How about "quantum leaps"? Now, there's a fancy word -- there's even a branch of physics called "Quantum Physics". But did you know, that "quantum" is just the neuter form of "qantas"? And we all know what a qantas is -- it's something that leaps through the air, to whit, a kangaroo. I'll bet you never knew of the connection, which proves that we never stop learning. Shalom shalom :-)
