being preparedReader comment on item: Siege in Sydney Submitted by Mohammed Waza Khiddif Id'ullah (Australia), Feb 5, 2015 at 03:12 The Murray Valley? Strzelecki Creek? Alice Springs? I once heard a story that there was a professor, before WWII. Everyone knew a big war was coming, so he researched what he reckoned would be the safest place on earth. Then he moved there -- to Guadalcanal. No way - too close to sea level , the equator and the northern hemisphere. Plus it's on or pretty close to the Ring of Fire'. They're forever having quakes and tsunamis up there. You can't plan for nuclear war; Of course you can! I bet Obama is (for himself, family and staff of course) but we all have to plan for death. That date has already been decided. You can't plan for it as you have no idea when it will occur. What you can do is live life as fully and as consciously as possible so that when the time comes to leave - you go happy and with no regrets (and an 'I' that knows its place.) We live under the Cascades, about an hour and a half from the Pacific Crest. It's gorgeous here, among Douglas firs and Ponderosa pines. Lovely - but Ring of Fire country isn't it? Nonetheless, God will judge my country and yours. As we sow , we reap. "I'm retired. Who will cash my social security checks when money becomes worthless. " Hopefully you won't even bother to try! "For that matter, do you suppose mail trucks will be coming here to deliver such checks?" The worthless ones? If they did , they'd be nearly as silly as the people who subsequently tried to cash then. ."Or medicines for the elderly? " No - so the point is - be prepared as much as possible. Think back 150-200 years when there where no telecoms and no motor vehicles. What would people have done then? In some cases they would have died - no antibiotics etc. But apart from that it's a matter of evauating what are luxuries and what are necessities and taking care of the necessities first. "...Will I suddenly become a young man again, and become a logger or fisherman? There's only one safe place to be, when these things come about: walking in God's plan, doing His work..." To me that means being consciously conscious. 'God' is discovered in your deepest Self. " Many people have been wrong about this sort of thing, of course, but it would just about take a miracle for it not to happen this time around.." as much as the optimist in me would like to disagree - the realist can't.
