Believe what you think you seeReader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina) Submitted by PCMadness (New Zealand), Mar 23, 2006 at 05:42 Mu'een Ud DeenI am sick of muslims trying to convey this misnomer that they are victims, being victimised every day, in the UK of all places. Just how exactly? and I want you to answer this honestly. You lot are like a bunch of whining kids that want everything for nothing. I realise that I will be branded a bigot and zenophobic for saying this but unlike our muslim friends, I have a thick skin. In reality I think the reverse is true. There is so much PC "positive discrimination" in favour of muslims and frankly all ethnic minorities, that the natives are actually treated like 2nd class citizens in certain situations. I stress, certain situation. You know, Important things like, benefits and housing etc. It stinks. I've experienced it first hand, my grandmother has, my aunty has and many more people have. Yes people are discriminated based on colour and creed and basically if you're in an ethnic group you're in, otherwise tough. You keep painting whatever picture you like but I live in the real world, in the UK. The despotic old school labour councils that think that bending over backwards for the likes of you will win them votes. Live in constant fear of upsetting your sensibilities, when you'll find something to be insulted by anyway. I'll give you a few instances. People that have worked hard and paid into the system all their lives, only to be abandoned in their hour of need. My grandfather fought for the British Army in WW2 and became resident with my grandmother after the war. My grandmother is Italian but has lived in the UK for 65 years, worked for 40 years, paid all her dues, she is disabled and needed assistance for a stairlift. The council worker had the audacity to ask her, and I quote "what colour her skin was" because the morin on the other end of the line couldn't tell whether she was an ethnic minority or not because of her accent. Being totally honest she said she was white and was turned down immediately, when she needed the system most. This is the system. The system stinks! I needed to sign on when I graduated for 6 weeks until I started my first job. The palavra was unbelievable. I was entitled to it, but the hoops I had to jump through. A miniscule error on the form and they tore it up and told me to come back. Whilst a pakistani who couldn't speak a word of English arrived with his "uncle". Hadn't even filled in a form. The counter clerk filled one in for him and he got an emergency giro immediately, whilst I had to wait 2 weeks for my application to be processed. That stinks! People being intimidated into selling their houses because they are surrounded by Pakistani muslims. Believe me they can be very nasty, as my aunty found out. Making no go areas for whites. All this does is create self imposed ghettos. So much for integration and multiculturalism. That stinks Tell me how someone can arrive as an asylum seeker, get a house, a car (on mobility benefit, yeah right), money, clothes, meal tickets as in vouchers for the supermarket, free bus passes, are not expected to work for a living whereas muggins like me who are natives have to hand over their hard earned money to pay for nothing short of leeches on the system. Somalis that are given state housing, rip out all the wood in the house to burn in a traditional oven that they have built in the front room of their house. (i.e flooboards, skirting boards, doors etc.) They then complain to the council in winter because they are cold and get them to repair all the damage, only for the cycle to begin again. Gangs of Albanians and Kosovans (asylums seekers and refugees) on the streets with their crime rings and aggressive begging. Gangs of Pakistanis spitting at you as you walk past as if they own the streets. All this just from personal experience in one city in Yorkshire. I tell you I am not alone. This is going on in every city in the UK. Personally, I think you believe you are being mistreated regardless of whether or not you actually are....it becomes expected. So tell me please, how? This all stinks, and then just to really gnaw off the hand that feeds you here they are parading down the streets with placards calling for beheadings as a result of the cartoons. Now that stinks!! you said "Do you know how many Muslims have been ordered into jail without trial - thousands. Is that fair? If we observe are religious celebrations or practises - why are we accused of terrorism?" You obviously don't know. Where did you pluck this figure from? I have a source that totally debunks that. "Days after 9/11 that the 'Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001' was passed: 63 Votes for and against the Bill in the House of Commons: 458-5 Number of defeats in the House of Lords before a compromise was reached: 8 Number of Muslims in the UK: 1.8m Proportion of those deemed to be practising Muslims: 42% Number of 'terror suspects' imprisoned without trial after the 'Anti-Terrorism' act was passed: 11 " source - http://observer.guardian.co.uk/waronterrorism/story/0,1373,776451,00.html 11 is slightly less than thousands. There may be a few more now but still not thousands. Why the exaggeration? You said "Innocent Muslims are targeted as a result of a particular individual or group (is that representative of the entire community) " Maybe people are getting a little jittery when people they've known well, next door neighbour, college buddies, or drinking mate appear on the news after blowing themelves up on a train. How do we know? These nutters are living amongst us. You don't do anything to stop the hatred preached by your imams, so what should we do?? http://observer.guardian.co.uk/islam/story/0,1442,688014,00.html People are getting invreasingly disillusioned with the way things are going and I imagine we are heading for a serious backlash in the not too distant future. Consider youself lucky that you are able to live in a democratic, secular country, because believe me you and your brothers have never had it so good. Sorry if it sounds like I am singling you out, I'm not, but this is a broad message and sentiments shared by an increasing number of people.
