Richard Falk on Daniel Pipes & "Trump's Deal of the Century"

Dear Daniel Pipes,

I wonder if you've taken notice of the Article about you by RICHARD FALK (1930-), republished in the Foreign Policy Journal, titled: Decoding the Pipes/Trump/Kushner 'Deal of the Century', and Dated SEPTEMBER 11, 2018 (yes that date!). Falk actually say very nice things about you - actually acknowledging your credentials as a Scholar. ...

Falk, which perhaps not all of your readers may know, was, inter alia, employed for years by one of the Human Rights divisions of the UN where he expounded the view of Palestinian Victimhood under "Zionist Colonialism," as he does to this day as an Emeritus Professor.

In this article (ironically, on 9-11) he expresses once more his thesis of the poor Palestinians, but this time he blames you for the success of your "Victory Caucus" in Washington.

In his article he typically suffers from "Tunnel Vision," failing to see the Palestinians as Arabs who therefore are also participating protagonist of the failed ARAB SPRING, and further has no sense of the simultaneous co-current rise of global Political Islam, as in Iran under to Ayatollah, and Turkey under Erdogan.Falk, like the rest of those obsessed or preoccupied with Israel are essentially also Unconscious ANTISEMITES.

But by you using the term "Victory" Falk has been able to perpetuate his myth of Military and Police Repression of the Palestinian People as victims of Colonialism (he stuck in his generation, after World War II, in which new states were being "granted" statehood status out of their former Imperial subjugation).

As a further consequence, he only acknowledges in passing that what Trump's not yet presented publicly Deal of the Century - that it consists of INDUSTRIAL PARKS for the Palestinians. But we know that the United States and the European Union (and even Israel) has been plagued with ILLEGAL MIGRANTS and LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, seeking GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT.

Though Falk claims to be interested in the welfare of the Palestinian people, he nevertheless implicitly is critical of their lack of attaining the status of STATEHOOD. And, especially in the recent context of an Arab Spring, but also in view of what has happened in the partially "independent" Gaza and Areas C,B, & A, the contemplate Palestinian State is most likely to become another Muslim FAILED STATE. - an Economic and Political Disaster. Yet Falk dismisses an INDUSTRIAL PARKS where Palestinians would be able to Work instead of being maintained on United Nations Welfare Benefits throughout their Generations while waiting to attain their Right of Return (to Israel, and Gaza, and Jerusalem, and the West Bank). After all, they are "entitled" to all the economic and real estate benefits the Jews of Israel have achieved irrespective of the fact that they have lost every war against the Jews of Israel.

Another related instance of the Tunnel Vision of Self-Hating Jew Falk, is his failure acknowledge the Demographic reality of Jewish Immigration into their ancient national home; in particular, the anti-Semitism of late 19th Century Western Europe, (especially France), the Russian Empire's Anti-Semitism as a consequence of the Partician of Poland, when Orthodox Russia "acquired" its non-Russified or Russifiable Jews (the rest of the Jews falling under the political jurisdiction of Protestant Prussia and Catholic Austria-Hungary, and subsequently, Jews became seen as a Fifth Column in all the Arab countries, forcing them to immigrate to Israel after the 1948 and 1967 Military Victories of Israel, the Arabs having experienced HUMILIATION (an especially grievous Arab sentiment) in the context of Mohammad having defeated the Jews at the Battle of Kabala in the 7th Century.

What's completely overlooked in Falk's narrative where he mere disparages the notion of INDUSTRIAL PARKS where Palestinian would achieve Gainful Employment (as oppose to UN Welfare formally financed primarily by Americans, is the issue of HOUSING.

And as regards HOUSING what better US Administration can handle that than the builder of Trump Plaza with Trump's vast International Real Estate Connections and Experience?

That's where Jordan and Egypt come in. On the East Side of the Jordan River there is at least one location where a City can be built to house easily over a Million "Palestinian Refugees." And the economic incentive for financial starved Jordan is enormous. Egypt also has need Financial Investments. What way to do that than to house Palestinians from Gaza in the Sinai next door to Gaza?

Where or not Palestinians require Citizen status, or merely Legal Residency status (a Visa or our Green Card) . is immaterial. The only issue for compromise, is that Palestinians need not ALL acquire Israelis Citizenship, and so Israel will not need to choose between either Democracy, or Apartheid - there is a THIRD CHOICE, that choice is citizenship in the neighboring state(s). There is a particularly glaring precedent for that - the over a million Turkish citizens of Germany.

So, the Trump Deal is unfolding precisely as self-hating Marcuse & C. Wright Mills Marxist Falk inconsistently criticizes: what the Palestinian people need immediately more than anything else is (1) WORK, and (2) Housing. And its on the issue of HOUSING in which the JORDAN IS PALESTINE thesis is being revived as the JORDAN SOLUTION.
