Trump listens to his advisors - particularly the Brillian John BoltonReader comment on item: Why Israelis Shy from Victory Submitted by Robert (United States), Oct 18, 2018 at 22:05 Dear Daniel Pipes, I know you like to venture into predictions. And here you anticipate a "heavy price," as you say. But here, I believe, you read too much into Trumps public comment that it's the turn of the Palestinians to get something. I think you are just being a pessimist because Trump is so unlike anyone you ever respected. He is a populist who talks like one - the extreme opposite of Harvard educated eloquent Obama. What I predict the Palestinians will get is Capitalist Economic, no more Welfare, and no more State. As Bolton just said, there is the "so-called" state of Palestine. So there will be no Final Status determinations, but only Economic benefits to individual Arabs of the Mandate. I imagine that under Bolton, terms will be imposed on both Jordan and Egypt as follows: (1) The building of a City and Industrial Zone on the East Bank of the River Jordan; and (2) The building of a City and Industrial Zone in the Sinai east of Gaza but as near as possible. The aim is to DEPOPULATE these areas of Palestinians so that they might benefit as Migrants into Jordan and Egypt. Not only do you have Bolton working on this solution, but Kushner, Greenblatt, Friedman, and Trump - and this Solution is a Real Estate Solution. I would like to be the one to promote a "Trump Plaza" in each location (ha ha). I cannot understand your pessimism? I recommend that you watch some shows from "The Apprentice" to help you understand what an assertive businessman Trump is. Why would Trump do anything to weaken Israel - the possible future homeland of his favorite and Jewish daughter, Ivanka, and her three Jewish Children, his Jewish Grandchildren? You don't seem to have any use for this sort of assumptions from Psychology or Conflict of Interests principles. The Palestinian "Welfare" money Trump just freed back into the US Treasury he can know use to build homes for the "homeless" 5.1 Million Palestinians ! What a great Real Estate opportunity for Jordan and Egypt. These solutions involve Billions and Billions of Dollars which would revitalize both the Jordanian and Egyptian economy. And with additional Saudi and Gulf States financing how could Jordan's Abdullah II or Egypt's Sisi say no? Admit it, your pessimistic only because Trump looks to good to be true? I rather think when you look at Trump you should consider very strong leaders like Napoleon and Bismarck who imposed their wills to shape their visions on Europe. Here's another thing you might not like - it was Henry Kissinger (not your favorite protagonist by far) who anticipated Trump's role on the world stage precisely because he owes no favors to anyone but himself. It is said that Trump has an Ego - but why shouldn't? He got himself elected President of the United States of America !
