If Oliver is correct that the scientific advancement happened in the Islamic world from 750 to 1260 will still happened even if there was no Islam then why there was a so called dark ages in europe and no scientific writings that time?why there is no any single european scientist or scholars in europe during the dark ages? Why there is a so called renaissance or rebirth from ignorance in europe after the time the europeans translated and studied the works of the Muslims scholars???? How far will your biases go to accept the fact that europeans had just benefitted and inherited the achievements of Muslims afetr they are being destroyed by the Mongols and the later european colonizers????

Oliver also said: "Now while the Mongols did disrupt things for the islamists of their day - the Huns and a pantheon of other 'Barbarians' really wiped out civilization - brought it to a stand-still - in Europe. I cannot help but just laugh at the said comments. Before the arrival of the of the Huns and other barbarians and after they are being driven away..the policy of the Church is just the same! That is , all christians were all forbidden to study or forbidden to search knowledge from any writings not from the church that even the Bible is being forbidden to be read!!!! In fact that unti-knowledge policy of the church was vigorously implemented after the Huns/Barbaric conquest era that resulted of the so-called dark Ages in Europe!!! It is the backward teachings of the Church and not the Barbarians who had long been driven or gone in the scene that had contributed the phenomenon of ignorance and the dark ages!!!

In Europe, nothing remains of the scientific treatises/works of the ancient pagan world as the christian church ordered them to be burned as the works of devils because the church that time belived that anything achieve by pagans even if it is a scientific work is evil! In short europe just learned in Islam the value of searching and developing of knowledge!!!

But unlike in europe or in the west, in the east particularly the byzintine - the dictum of the Roman church to burn all the pagan writings are not so well-implemnted the result of which there still copies of the said works that remains. The christians in the east did not burn them all yet they never studied or develped those pagan treatises perhaps in due fear that the church will burned them also as heretics or evil!!!!

But when Islam spread abroad and have seen the works of the ancient world, the Muslims in their Islamic motto "to search knowledge from cradle to grave and even in places as far as china" eagerly wanted to study those pagan works and find which are beneficial in itl!!! Unlike christians in europe, Muslims never regard the scientific works of the pagans as evil but worthy to be preserved, studied and developed! In short the modern christians now should be very grateful of Islam in saving the ancient knowledge from the verged of total lost or disappearance!!!

Of course, because Islam is a just religion....the Muslims never monopolized those knowledge the way western colonizers did later on their muslim subjects but encourage also the christians and Jews to participate!!!! It is in the golden age of Islam where the spririt of tolerance and sharing have been well implemented and enjoyed. This noble spirit of tolerance have never existed in backward europe during the dark ages and this sharing of knowledge have never occured or practiced during the colonialization era in which the result of which the muslims in the post-christian colonization era had been transformed almost as ignorants and lack of education. Only in the late 19th centuries that Muslims were able to be uducated and by that they are on the processing of recovering from the evil nighmare of colonialization!!!

The sad fact is that those who lagged behind in our modern times due to poverty and war like the talibans, the bedouins in arabia where the wahabis emerged, and some illiterate tribes in pakistan and africa had scarcely received or acquired education, the result of which they have now an interpretation of Islam whiich is so badly out of context whose backward interpretation just mirrored or exposed their lack of education!!!
