nonsense argument by "dhimmi no more"Reader comment on item: Recruiting Soldiers Against Radical Islam Submitted by Hassan Pierre (Philippines), Apr 15, 2007 at 03:38 what "dhimmi" had argued does not actually damage my contention but rather supporting it! He admits the fact that it is only during the Islamic influence that the translation of greek works happened. He try to emphasize that it was christians in the east who had translated the greek learning but he never emphasized who commanded those christians to translate those books!!! It does not matter who was the translators that time may it christians or Jews but what matters most is who studied and developed the treatises and works of the Greek after the translation and made those knoeldge to be put in actual application. Who were then the ones who put the treatises of the greeks in actual application for every day used? European Christians or Muslims? As dhimmis no more would agree with me it was the works of Muslim scholars and scientist which were being translated bu the west and made those books as textbooks in their universities for a long time! It is then very clear that because of the religous injunction in Islam to Muslims may they are arabs or non-arabs to search knowledge the ancient scientific learnings of the pagans which are already non existent in europe because of the kowledge hater policy of the Church - were being saved by the Muslims from extinction or lost!!!! For "dhimmi no more" he always emhasized of those who translates the greek works, not of those who studied and written new improved treatise and books after the said translation!!!! You can be a translator, but it does not follow that the said translator is also a scholar or scientist! He cites the nestorian Hunein ibn Ishaq as one of the translators employed by the Muslims yet we cannot here no any scientific works of Hunein! What we here are the works of muslim scholars and scientists like Al Khwarizmi, Al Buruni, Ibn al-Haytam, ibn al-Nafis, Yakub al-Kindi, Muhammad al-Farabi, ibn Sina, ibn Hazm, al-Ghazali, ibn Rushd, ibn Khaldun, among others whose works and accomplishments were being translated and studied in europe that resulted to the so called renaissance of europe from the age of ignorance or dark ages!!! In anyway, Muslims are also invited and welcome Jews and christians interested to study and to acquire knowledge! "dhimmi no more" said: "To add insult to injury these translations of the Greek learning were translated to Syriac and then to Arabic by non Arabs..." and he also said: "More damaging to your case when the Greek learning was translated to Latin. it took place in Spain and was conducted by Jews who knew Arabic and then translated it to Catalan and then was translated by Chirstians to Latin. So much for the Arabs and wannabe Arabs and learing and eduaction. Looting?..." That comments above shows a total ignorance of what is Islam and who are muslims!!! This commentator seems to argue that only Arabs are muslims and the rest are not muslims!! Taken for granted that there was no any Arab scholar or scientist, still, those sceintists and scholars listed above are all Muslims! They cannot be an Arab but they are still Muslims in the first place! And what encourage them to search knwledge is deeply rooted in the teachings of Islam!!!! what a shame... ... He also mocks me by showing why i became Muslim where in fact i am not an Arab and because for him Islam is for the Arabs alone. In this view of him a thought came in my mind whether this "dhimmi no more" is a professional/college grad or not - since it is common knowledge among those who truly knew and educated christians that Islam is not only for the Arabs but to all people of the world - that we have also not only arabs but persian, turkish, chinese, malays, african muslims etc throughout the wholw world!!! In fact , the majority of muslims are not Arabs!!!! While Jesus was sent only for the people of Israel or Jews(Matth 10:5-7; 15:24) Muhammad was sent by Allah for all the people of the world( HQ 21:107)!!!!!
