No Resistance When Fear Replaces Truth and RealityReader comment on item: Will Europe Resist Islamization? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Apr 14, 2008 at 15:07 There is a subliminal thought that tries to surface while thinking about the resistance necessary to keep Islam restrained in Western culture, and in the exchange and responses this reader is responding to, the fear of the word that is bandied about so casually, dhimmitude, translates so easily into the word that all say they abhor, that is slavery. The Biblical reference used to highlight this is mentioned by others previously is Genesis 9:18, et Seq., which refers to the time immediately after Noah's flood. After all is said and done, maybe this is the real crux of the whole issue between Islam and Christianity, whom do you want to serve? Coming from a catholic background, transitioning through an Anglican upbringing, only to leave that behind for a relationship with Jesus Christ that focuses on Him for all things true, it is from this posture that this reader has made the various observations regarding how history has been played through according to the planning and preparation of the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We see in the current circumstances of Europe's failure to resist Islam a general perception that the Christian influences that once held sway in the Occidental continent are indeed waning, and now we read by some that Muslims should be, maybe, given the benefit of the doubt in their observance of the Quran, which has been proven to be beyond difficulty since Islam is seen to be the replacement theology of modern times, hustling and muscling its way past Christianity in the race to see who will control Israel and Jerusalem. The West's ability to resist by force seems to be the way many would now deal with the perceived threat, but as it is being led by the United States there are grave doubts in the American (supposedly) unilateral efforts, and there are few nations willing to invest in the process. So acquiescence seems to be the course many are willing to follow. That is what is seen in the latest visit by Jimmy Carter. Along those lines, it was announced by the Roman Catholic Church that added to the suite of deadly sins was unrestrained war, or war that did not suit the sensibilities of a religious mindset struggling in a secular environment. One wonders then what the Pope might have to say to the President of the United States, since the United States is perceived by an overwhelming number of people who see the conflict in Iraq as a definitively Christian/Muslim one, the rampant Islamic factionalism notwithstanding. Does the Pope intend to condemn the United States for participating in a deadly sin for resisting Islam when Europe has difficulty doing so? If so, who will lead the resistence cause if Islam is really not the way Europe wants to go? It has been mentioned before that Christianity in Europe has lost its bearing on the Truth of the Holy Bible, and that the current secular (and sometimes) religious attempts to resist Islam are meeting with an obstacle of a highly devoted mindset of an ideology that believes it can win because it sees the weakness of a Christianity not based and anchored in the full relationship with Jesus Christ. Europe has faltered, and talk of assimilating a Muslim based soceity for those who have called Europe home seems persuasive, if not already a fait accompli. Now, how shall we perceive the Muslim perspective? Two excerpts from the headlines of today, repetitions of other like-minded statements from the world of the Muslim (definitely not moderates), shall serve to reinforce the mindset exhibited by our Muslim contributors in this forum: (Locally to Israel and the Middle East, we read) "The PLO is the sole legitimate representative [of the Palestinian people], and it has not changed its platform even one iota." That's what the PLO's ambassador to Lebanon, Abbas Zaki, told Lebanon's NBN TV in an interview that aired last Wednesday and was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). "In light of the weakness of the Arab nation and the lack of values, and in light of the American control over the world, the PLO proceeds through phases, without changing its strategy. Let me tell you, when the ideology of Israel collapses, and we take, at least, Jerusalem, the Israeli ideology will collapse in its entirety, and we will begin to progress with our own ideology, Allah willing, and drive them out of all of Palestine," added Zaki. (Then to the rest of the world we read) …..in a sermon televised on Friday, Yunis al-Astal, a Hamas MP and cleric, told worshipers that Islam would soon conquer Rome, "the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and which has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam," just as Constantinople was. Rome, he said, would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe." This is what is coming from the heart and mind of Islam, and not from the ‘moderates' who have been marginalized in their beliefs by the fundamentalist Muslim. This is what Europe, indeed the world is facing, now that everyone seems bent on taking Israel and trying to barter her for world peace. Even the visit of the Pope to the United States, which by the way is the last bastion that Israel might have called upon for help had America not led the way to partitioning the Promised Land to the clamoring hordes. Judgment is shortly coming for that little exercise of futility; and friends, prophecies written concerning these things and about Israel and the rest of the wrold are here and now being fulfilled. Only the outcome that the rest of the world is hoping for is not the outcome promised to Israel by her LORD. True resistance is this, that only in believing Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ for salvation can anyone make any sense of this and realize that He is the one true hope. Only in believing in the LORD of Israel does there seem to be any sense in what is going on and why the world is ready to be spent on its destiny that is alluded to in Genesis 9:18, that servitude to Israel by the power of her LORD will be the destiny of those who did not obey her LORD when they had the chance.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
