Inevitablity Surrounding Israel Circumstances Underscored by Truth in Holy BibleReader comment on item: Prepare to attack [Iran] Submitted by M.Tovey (United States), Jun 24, 2008 at 11:57 In continuing to provide the assurance (the proof, if one desires) that the situations and circumstances characterizing the times surrounding Israel as prophesied in the Holy Bible are inevitable, it must of a necessity be mentioned that if there is no belief or faith in the Person of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ as the Son of Man, the Son of Almighty God as our LORD, Redeemer and King, then the values of these words as proof of the things about to happen will have no value in unbelief, such as is found in the followers of the Islamic Prophet, who look for another to validate their beliefs, or an agnostic or atheist, who have nothing of hope to look for. In Matthew 24, we read: 2) And Jesus said to them (speaking to His Jewish disciples of the future of the Temple destruction during the Roman assault by Titus, a fact accomplished in 71 AD{CE}), "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down." 3) Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 4) And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you." 5) "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many." 6) "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7) For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8) All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9)"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10) And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11) Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12) And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13) But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14) And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." In Matthew 25, we read: 31) (Jesus speaking)"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32) All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33) And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34) Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35) for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36) I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' 37) "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38) When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39) Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40) And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' 41) "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42) for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43) I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 44) "Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45) Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46) And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Now remembering that these words spoken by Jesus of Nazareth during the time of the Roman occupation and His disciples were harboring the typical Jewish hope of HaMashiach coming and expelling the Romans establishing His Kingdom right then and there, imagine their complete collapse of such expectations when the Chief Rulers had Jesus Christ crucified a week after His ‘triumphal entry' on Palm Sunday. So we have the intervening period of time, nearly two thousand years since until we see the impossible re-establishment of the State of Israel, according to the previously mentioned fulfillment of Ezekiel 37. It is done: Israel is there, in the land, as promised. But next we read Ezekiel, 38, and 39, which speaks of continuing troubles from surrounding nations, and nations farther away, coming down to assault Israel. Let us pick one in particular: Ezekiel 38) Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, (some say these refer to the ancient names of Russia, Moscow and Tobolsk) and prophesy against him, 3) and say, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4) I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5) Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6) Gomer (some scholarship calls this part of Europe) and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops--many people are with you. Why, may we ask, is this being set up? We read: Isaiah 34:1) Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is in it; the world, and all things that spring from it. 2) For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and His fury upon all their armies: He hath utterly destroyed them (His intention for judging unbelief), he hath delivered them to the slaughter. …..8) For [it is] the day of the LORD'S vengeance, [and] the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion. Then there is: Jeremiah 25:27) Therefore thou shalt say to them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and vomit, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. 28) And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thy hand to drink, then shalt thou say to them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. 29) For lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts. 30) Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say to them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread [the grapes], against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31) A noise shall come [even] to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them [that are] wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. 32) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised from the borders of the earth. 33) And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from [one] end of the earth even to the [other] end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. We read further: Zechariah 14:16) And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17) And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. 18) If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 19) This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 20) In that day "HOLINESS TO THE LORD" shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the Lord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21) Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts. Of the many verses that could be referenced, these are a few provided as a quick reference of what Jesus Christ is speaking of, yet as mentioned before, it requires faith in Jesus in order to have the assurance of being on His side when these inevitable circumstances of prophecy are fulfilled. Salvation from these things may be obtained by asking Jesus Christ, in His Name, to forgive the sins of those asking in honest prayer, and allowing Him to enter into one's heart. Only then will such things begin to make sense in a Biblical way, and it will be seen then that the world has no choice but to inevitably follow in the Word as found in the Hebrew Holy Scriptures. It has been in mentioned that the Jews require a sign of Messianic things, but as mentioned before, Israel is the sign, and IS the proof of the Word of the LORD. It is suggested here not to lose this shortly diminishing opportunity to heed the words of Jesus, and ask Him prayer to show you the value of believing in Him. Faith in Him will be the absolute proof of His own Word. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
