Islam is the religion of Abraham, response to M. ToveyReader comment on item: Prepare to attack [Iran] Submitted by Nura (United States), Jul 2, 2008 at 12:26 The debate that seems to always arise between the ideology of the Quran and faith in Jesus Christ comes from unbelief in the Hebrew Holy Scriptures, such variance being the principal premise for the writing of the words of the Islamic Prophet, since he evidently could not find it in himself to seek the salvation offered through Jesus Christ's sacrifice. Interesting statement considering that Islam is closer to the Religion of Abraham than Christianity. Tell me, if you were following the guidance of the oldest Hebrew scripture, would you believe in a triune God? The "sacrifice" of Jesus is not mentioned in the Old Testament either. The answer to the second question is easy, for Jesus Christ answered that for all to believe in Him for salvation Jesus speaking in the Gospel of John 3:11) "Verily, verily, I say to thee, We speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony. 12) If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13) And no man hath ascended to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man (Yeshua HaMashiach) who is in heaven." Where is the easy answer? I don't see how this statement explains why God would allow his servant to be among the accursed! Does not God speak the truth? If he says that only the accursed hang, then you are saying that Jesus is among them. This is why the Jews were rejoicing at the crucifixion. They knew that a true Messiah would never hang, so the perceived hanging of Jesus only supported their disbelief in him. Allah says: 'Then because of their breaking of their covenant, and their disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and their slaying of the prophets wrongfully, and their saying: Our hearts are hardened – Nay, but Allah set a seal upon them for their disbelief, so that they believe not save a few – And because of their disbelief and of their speaking against Mary a tremendous calamity – And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them; and those who disagree concerning it are in doubt of it; they have no knowledge of it save pursuit of conjecture; they slew him not for certain. [Qur'an: 4-157] This makes more sense! Allah saved Jesus(PBUH) from that torture and humiliation. Why do Christians prefer to believe that he was forsaken, because it is through his blood that you think you are saved! This is very similar to the story of a human sacrifice to the god's for the sake of the people in ancient pagan religions. The sacrifice is usually a virgin or clean spirit. We can understand from this that in order for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to provide the satisfaction of the death penalty for our sins in substituting His death for ours, the humiliation was a necessary part, for it is our humiliation as sinners that He took to the cross with Him. This is the basis for our faith in Him, that in the love of Almighty God, Jesus Christ went to the cross to pay my sin debt (and yours, if you will believe and let Him into your heart). The Quran denies this, and that is why the can be no reconciliation of the unbelief in the true Jesus in the Quran and the faith in Jesus Christ as provided for in the Holy Bible. It is clear according to the Bible alone that Jesus did not want to be crucified! So you believe that he died for the sins of man unwillingly? He would have preferred to live. This is clear. Why when he was brought to the court did he not say that he was the King of the Jews? Why did he only say "You have said so"? Why did he not say anything when he was questioned by Herod? Jesus tried to avert the punishments of these people as simple as that. He defended himself without lying. It almost worked! If it were not for the insistence of the Jews he would have never recieved a senetence to be crucified according to the Bible! Who would have died for the sins of man then? The symbol that you hold dear is thus obsolete. It is a symbol of humiliation for criminals not your salvation. Lastly, If Jesus knew that he would pay for the sins of man with HIS blood. Why is he reported to have quoted psalm 22?
